Feel free to roast me in the meme thread and the skype chat for suggesting this. Hell, I might join the chat now to roast me
Just wanted to propose a slight tweak to trade rules for next season after yesterday's "mess"
Treat draft picks like points so they do not count against the current rule that there can only be a max of 5 players and/or picks per trade
This way, teams can send multiple draft picks in a trade to sweeten the pot without being limited to the current rule of a max of 5. You still have to adhere to the rule that you cannot trade consecutive 1s without having another 1st rounder from one of those years already and you obviously still need to follow the salary rules to legally process a trade without picks.
I do see a big drawback here in that this change does create extra work for the commish because he will literally have to process a trade in two parts because I think TV only allows 5 players/picks per trade. As someone who relies on the input team already for TC, DCs, RFA, and UFA (come back Wig, please fix my node!) I dont want to be a bigger pain in the ass and add trades too if everyone thinks this is too much. Plus, if anyone thinks this flouts the 2-part trade restriction, and we would have to revamp trade rules then I definitely do not want to go down that road because this is not a hill I'm willing to die on.
I just think it will add a new strategic layer to trades and offer teams an incentive to accumulate picks not only for rebuilds but for home-run swings on "cant-miss players"
tl;dr - As a New Yorker, I think all the New Orleans folks will want PBSL trades to let you replicate this gem in the future
