Orlando Magic Funeral

Post by coltsguy510 »

GM coltsguy510: As thousands have filed here into Conway Arena, I felt the somber atmosphere. It is so unlike the previous two years in which there was a glow, even a spark as fans entered into the vast arena with hope and joy. That exists no longer. Now there is sadness. There is just mourning and remembrance of the days past. The days of Penny Hardaway running the break as Keith Van Horn strided ahead for an alley oop. The days of Ben Wallace locking down the great centers of the league. The days of Kyle Korver and Mike Miller standing proud as white stereotypes, killing the other teams with three pointers. Those days are gone. And I am sorry.

GM coltsguy510: I can not sugarcoat this for all of you. I loved the Magic more than anything the last two seasons. However, now things have changed. The Magic are no more. Now we look to a bleak, cold future of desolation and hopelessness. We have no cap space. We dont have our draft pick this season. We don't have the talent to compete. The one thing we do have is a mountainous tax bill that could take ages to pay. That is all. I am sorry to announce that the Magic are dead. Now, I would like to announce our organizations new name. We are.....

John Schnatter here, just wanted to say GOOD JOB ON THE MOVES. Do you think you got as much value for your players as you could have? Any ragrets?
6 Rings. That's it. That's the tweet.

With the likes of Penny, Donyell, and Mike Miller, do you consider yourself in the basement of the atlantic divsion? Is there any other team in the division that you can see faltering enough to have a worse record than you in the Atlantic?

Dr. Rocker, The Cleveland Rocker: Can you shed light on why you received 0 points in your trades in which you sent out desirable players? Remember, you were prompted by "Pssst... Where dem pernts?" comments throughout.

Also, Pssst... Where dem pernts?
There's no "I" in team, but you can find "Eat me" if you push it too far.

Random Reporter: Throughout the multitude of personnel changes in the 2000s, Mike Miller has been the one constant. But with the team seemingly headed for another rebuild, is his future in jeopardy?

How soon can you pay off the tax? Do you feel like you will be under the tax this season?

With the tax penalty, we may be looking at a longer rebuild than anticipated especially because this team does not have a young star to reload around as the Mavs in 95 did and the Kings more recently did.

I feel I got as much value as I possibly could have for the players I sent. KVH was on a large, multi-year contract and I managed to get an expiring player and a pick for him. Kyle Korver was a great, young player however he was on an expiring rookie deal and we may not have been able to pay him in next off-season as a result of tax penalties. The Maggette trade was a steal in our eyes. The only one we feel may have been rough was trading Ben Wallace along with a pick. This was a necessary move though in order to get closer to under the cap.

I don't see any specific teams being worse to the point that I predict us being better. However, I do feel as if this team will stay out of the bottom of the league. I predict this to be a team around the top of the lottery.

I'm always looking to make moves, everyone knows that. But Mike Miller will only be available for a steep price. He is one of the leagues best young scorers and is still on what I believe to be a bargain of a contract.

I will get under the tax this season, but I do not know if I will be able to pay it off this season.

How could you make a trade with the team that holds your pick and not get it no matter the cost ? Can you explain your mentality with that one?

Will Penny Hardaway retire with the Magic? Are you hoping he retires at the end of the season?
