Training of Purple Potential Players

Post by ballsohard »

I do not think this should be allowed. Currently we are not allowing players with Purple current to be trained, but my opinion in this matter is, if they're purple potential, I don't think they need help in the form of manual intervention.

Disagree

Player's with blue current potential should be able to be trained. Just because they have a purple future potential box does not make them a true "purple" player. They are currently a blue like all other blues. I happen to know from experience.

And shouldn't all players have a chance however unlikely it is to become "Purple"?
I still got all my fingers but somewhere I lost my mind.

No? Why should everyone have potential to be purple ? And to add to that.. All players that are blue blue can be trained to purple potential here so I'm not really understanding that question.

Absolutely not. Purple is supposed to be the "best of the best". MJ or Hakeem in real life, in their prime had no equal. There shouldnt be more than a small percentage of these guys in the league period, let alone at the same time

Wave, would you be on board with something like .. If they had purple potential all you can do is train their current ? That seems to account for some of the issues here.

I've been thinking of this for a while. And for the longest time thought this was the actual rule. When doing the trade value I looked at all of the purples, there were 5 or 6 with purple potential when we started this league, and only 1 with current (I believe) who was MJ. Now I think there are currently 16 with purple potential with 9 guys having it as current. There is already too much purple in the league IMO, so I agree these guys do not need outside help in getting any better. Let's let the game play out some.

This is going to be a tough one to argue, I think we should let some guys with zero purple players on their roster discuss it, a lot of people are going to come off sonding bias here, Sound for example has a blue purple player...he's obviously going to argue against this strongly. Much like I argued against the All-League restriction from training strongly b/c Zo was a blue/blue.

I think training only their current is the way to go.

I've had this same stance for years. Argued with Chad and Scott about it many times. I assure you, my ability to train Chauncey 1 more time in passing has absolutely nothing to do with my opinion on this.

I say leave it as is. Purple potential is what it is potential. We can't pay train past 85. We can't pay to train if a player makes a All NBA team. We are limited to 3 paid train sessions. I think there are enough paid training restrictions. I don't see a reason to change this rule to be honest.
