Speaking of rest in peace, Celtics legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar elected to retire at the end of the last season. We will be retiring his number and hanging it in the rafters right next to his DPOY award. He was truly a blessing to this franchise both in the past years in addition as a leader of young men last season.

We also will be hanging another DPOY banner. This time for the current big man cornerstone, going from 'reem to 'keem, Hakeem Olajuwon. He was an outstanding player last season truly blossoming into the best big in the league as we predicted. We are truly honored to have Hakeem on our team and have them play with each other for one season in order to show the passing of the torch from one generation of Celtics' great to another.

We really enjoyed last season. We felt that we were in a good place to start the season after getting Dominique. The three headed monster of Wilkins, Porter, and Hakeem we felt really was a good three man punch to start the year. We then also improved our chanced by getting Lewis Lloyd and Kyle Macy. It was a lineup we felt that could rival most. Alas injuries were our downfall.

Speaking of Kyle Macy, he is dead to us, and if you ask any questions about him we will not answer them.

We got to the playoffs as wanted and also won a series. We felt that we could have gone further, but that was not in the cards after having very little time with a complete roster to figure out who was best where.

Now we have the great Ralph Sampson back in the fold. He went away, heard the rumors of how bad Milwaukee would be if he were to go there, and decided to come back.

We also got Parish to be our next version of Kareem. We feel bad about the Warriors not fully understanding the implications of the trade and will look to injure everyone in their division every game we play against them as some sort of additional repayment.

We also signed Greg Ballard to a max slot because we struck out in UFA 1 and needed to bring in another wing. It is effectively a one year deal, so we were fine with shelling the money out.

IDK if we quite have the moves to make a trade of the contract. We will have to wait and see.I think the current iteration is one that will help us go very far and have a deep run. I think we are poised to get to the conference finals, as long as the injury bug doesn't bite us again. However, this game does hate the Celtics, so we shall see.

Guard depth seems like a bit of an issue. Who do you see as your biggest contributor from the bench in your guard roles?

It was something we actively had to decide between was either getting a good big or guard for our depth after our UFA failures. We really thought we had a chance at retaining a guard, but he chose less money to go to a team that didn’t make the playoffs.

We decided that parish would be the choice and then we went with a “throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks” for guard depth.

1. He mentioned something about how he thought in an alternate world he would have played in Boston. He said he would come back, but it would require Tom Chambers coming to Boston as he hates that guy.

Yeah. Johnny Davis was never going to start. He will slide to the bench for Terry at the point and Lewis to the 2. It is good to see Terry can play the 2 though and will keep that in the war chest of ideas.

Parish and Ballard may have regressed, but it wasn’t that bad and I am looking forward to their contributions off the bench. They are going to do well in that spot. Hell, even as a spot starter they can do well too.

I envisioned the starters for sure. I thought I would have had a little better depth given my winning last season and the cap space, but you work with what you have.

When I traded him away I had thought it was an option. Then when I traded for Danny, I initially didn’t want Ralph because of the RFA tag. I was hoping I could have a world where I got both, but I’d rather Ralph for this build than Danny. Danny was the safe play last season, Ralph is the all in this season.

Already had talks with warriors for Parish, they were down (again sorry Greeps - I thought you knew what was happening with the money)

I really didn’t feel like haggling, and I’m building this team on its depth and quality with the bigs, which I think I’ve done well with.

I don’t know that his role has changed that much. We’re expecting just as much offensive fire power from him as we were last season. He actually played better in some spots as a reserve. So he understands what’s good for the team is good for him.
