I appreciate that Charlie is trying to define what qualifies as media. If he wants to take the reins and stop absolute garbage from gracing the in/off season forum, I'm all for it.
But if you just decide to do that without prior notice, or without clarity on what you expect from writers, that's pretty discouraging. I didn't waste my time for one person to decide my work isn't worth anything that has otherwise, to date, met expectations for earning points.
If, moving forward, stuff like my article doesn't qualify because you think it's an official nomination or whatever else, I suggest people who have league responsibilities define what can and can't earn points before deciding something doesn't meet previously unspoken criteria. At a minimum, applying points and stating why, moving forward, you will not be administering points for similar content in the future. Maybe making a separate post announcing to the league what changes are in place moving forward so we can all be on the same page.
I suggest we put to a vote what does/doesn't qualify for media points, or at a minimum have the media coordinator outline what GMs can expect if a league coordinator decrees updated rules/changes.
If neither of the above happens, I will put out a referendum vote on whether or not the media coordinator executed his duties as expected, correctly, and whether or not he has earned points for doing his job, because right now I'll give you 3 guesses as to how I'm voting.
Feel free to discuss, but now you know what to expect from me, unequivocally. Feels nice to know where someone stands, doesn't it?
