A SAD AB(ostonian)

Post by AngryBanana »

AB, you can decide if it’s the player or the GM, approaches the podium.

I am here today out of necessity. As the last few weeks since Bridges and Chief, and well the whole team mostly were hurt as a result of a freak accident that caused them all to just well get hit (both literally and with their development). What had happened was the team, minus AB who only travels by running, was driving back from a local Blue Man Group outing that Chief K put together. Suddenly while they were trying to turn out of Dunkin’ they hit an old lady who was walking by. In true Massachusetts style, everyone kept yelling how the bus wouldn’t fit out the spot and they were right. Well, the auto brakes initiated when they hit the lady. Being that they are on a bus and no one was buckled, they all went flying. Bridges took the brunt of it, as he was passing out the munchkin’s he ordered, flew from the back of the bus all the way to the front. He was handing Fryer a donut when this happened, which caused him to pull his shoulder out of socket… anyways this whole thing was a mess and somehow the old Masshole didn’t even get hurt. I mean AB has been crying ever since it happened

Anyways. Last season was by all accounts, ok. We flipped our people for future players to go with AB. We resigned Bridges in RFA, and were hopeful that the bucks would be on airplane mode (early signs of a wary off-season). AB signed his max and ate all the cap, so not much else to really report on. We are not in the process of evaluating everything and seeing what truly is the best foot forward. With this core, part of the core, or a HARD reset. AB will be AB though, and the season won’t be a total waste. We will hopefully make the playoffs even though the conference has gotten really good. Also, Hintz will be run into the ground to make up for coming back, sucker. We also traded for Throckmorton in a deal that really is a line bright spot, to also go with not signing Romero to a big deal or anyone else really that would have been wasted (like when I signed Gauss a few seasons back - only to send out that same season.)

The starting 5 will be AB, Hintz, Bridges, Throckmorton, and Chief.

@ me for your questions, both for the team in the comments and for players in my PM.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Question for @AntonioBlakeney: If you had the chance to add any player to your team, which three players in the league would be the most intriguing players to consider to complement your skillset (and why)?

If I am looking at current rosters I would have a few obvious names like Safi, Herb, or Montoya. However I think there are a few more under the radar names that would really allow me to flourish as the man, ball player, and leader I want to be.

1. Phil Smith: A player on a team that has to carry a lot of the load, while still trying to develop. I really like all of his abilities. He has both the offensive and defensive skills that I think would play great with my game, and he doesn’t like to hack at everyone in the paint.

2. Leroy Johnston: A player I pushed hard for the Celtics to sign in the off-season. His perimeter abilities to lock down any guard, while also providing the three point shooting that is one of the few weaker areas in my game would pair nicely with me. He is able to switch between the two and the three spot, which would also allow me to float around to whatever position I feel like playing that night. Also, his 3ps would creat space for me to bully wings in the paint.

3. Gary Rockwell: Another player that I really wanted management to sign, through the draft, and was one pick away from getting. Gary is a guy I knew was going to do something special in PBSL, and I was hoping it was with me. He also has the perfect abilities to let me thrive on offense and defense. His handling would take the burden off of me to always run the offense, and is another guy that would let me float around as he can play both the 1 and the 2.

He felt a that getting a Boston Kreme donut was just rude and would get made fun of, so instead he got a custom cruller donut that had chocolate on top and kreme on the inside. Ironic that it is both still Boston Kreme AND that it is truly cruel that he got that donut, because if he got a normal donut he would have not had to wait until last, and in the process get hurt.

Random Reporter: Do you see yourself shopping Chief KSS at any point this season in order to potentially avoid another Romero situation?

@ABlakeney

Do you see yourself finishing this contract as a Celtic or would you force a trade if Boston does not retool in time to compete for a 2nd ring?

As the days go by I feel more like this another teams contract and not the Celtics. I love it here, but I think my time may have come.

Question to ABlakeney

Justin Bieber, Teremana.com; Celtics pre-season record was 1-5. It's obvious you are not happy in Boston and GM does not appreciate your talent. Which team would like to play for?

Right now, the only thing I do know for sure is that Cleveland is terrible.

Sorry for the brutal, TC, AngryB. You can bounce back if you want, but if you decide to move on, can you find another Blakeney? Or do you think you still have the right pieces if you practice patience and let this squad bounce back from this TC?
Somehow I manage.

As Ted Lasso would say, “you just have to play with the hand you’re dealt” and we want the two aces… but you can’t always get them.

Yeah. It’s honestly something I go back and forth on continuously since TC. I am not sure what the best way forward is. If I did trade AB, no I would more than likely not get an equal one part back. However it would hopefully set up for the next crack at a championship.

When will the banana stop being so angry?

Also, what's your response to allegations of Chief Kickingstallionisms exploiting the Native American community despite being allegedly 5% Native American?

The second question is why I will always be angry.

The main problem that our local tribes have a problem with is not the fact that he is trying to embrace his heritage. They are willing to get any exposure that they can to help bring money to their communities. Their main problem is his last name. The stallion is highly respected to this particular tribe, and their wish is that he would stop kicking the stallions.

The sim gods have been very kind to Boston for the most part. The main gripe I have is with the TC gods. Those are the ones that have been continuously belligerent when deciding my fate.

I evaluate the offers based on paritally what is sent to me.

Mostly, I have an idea of what teams have the ability to offer what I would find acceptable. If I hear from a team outside of those teams, I will listen - but the teams will have to convince me.

Based on the offers, it will for sure dictate what I do for this season, as I keep going back and forth on whether to trade or not.

We have trained him after much considerations. I do think that he can still be a good to great player. So Hopefully with paid training and a bounce back TC he returns to what I believed he would be.

Replaced is a strong word. I have Throckmorton who will be more than willing to not foul out of 30% of the games he played. I think the better question is how you will replace Romero throughout the year?
