Jerry, it's been real. It's not you, it's us. Enjoy Los Angeles, now you can finally enjoy your big market trappings you've always deserved.
That's right. This offseason we shipped our franchise main-stay along with our BEEEGA-WHITEA-MONSTAHHH in Sabonis #Dougknows to LaLa land for a very promising young point guard just coming into his own. We just missed the playoffs last season despite a talented team, so we said, obviously there's something wrong here, and we needed a big changeup.
Returning to the team is 'No' Mo Bamba, and fan favorite Gerald 'On the Block' Kerns 'County, Iowa'. Other than that it's a new cast of characters.
Leiker will be a mainstay, we turned Randy Abney into James 'I keep forgetting your first name, and I even had to look it up this time' Barton. They are really good, and at 25 and 26, are capable of manning our backcourt/wing for a good chunk of the next decade. To compliment those 2 and Bamba, we were able to entice Carl "Aren't you the same player as Cam Reddish" Howard out to Denver for a year to check things out on both sides. Ideally, Barton would be at the 2 and we'd have a stronger 3, but we'll play a little run'n'gun and see how it goes. Spotting in at most of our Center minutes will be offensive powerhouse some call a 'Big Lou Williams' in Joe Sherrill. He'll come off the bench at first, but we expect him to put a lot of biscuits in a lot of baskets for us this year.
So that's the team, we're excited to see the product on the floor, and we won't hesitate to adjust as needed as the season progresses.
Last season was only the 3rd time in 22 seasons that you missed the playoffs. Given the state of the conference, do you expect to find yourself back in the postseason?

Jerry will score more, pretty confident about that. But Leiker's defense and passing are better. I guess it depends on what you like. Pretty close, though, and I'll take the 25 year old.

You know, I have enough talent to get there, it's a question of if I can figure out the fit/DC/etc. I can't name 7 teams I think are better than mine in the conference, so I'm going to say, yes. I expect to be back, and I think I'll be a tough out.

What your plans for the Nuggets going forward?
Well we don’t have our pick next year, so in the short term we’ll try to be competitive. Though if we were offered a rebuilding package for Barton or Leiker, we would definitely consider it.
