2028-2029 Coach of the Year Nominations (Due 8/10 @11:59pm central)

Rules for Nominations:(READ CAREFULLY AS THERE ARE CHANGES) Nominate yourself for Coach of the Year OR someone else for Coach of the Year that you feel was outstanding and exemplary. You are limited to ONE nomination.

This year there will be a GMOTY award AND a COTY award. Therefore you must consider different things when nominating for these two awards. For this award you are only to judge the actual coaching job by the particular GM. Here you should look at a few of the following things. The team's performance vs the degree of difficulty. What were that team's pre-season projections? Did they exceed what everyone expected from them? Did any coaches make significant leaps from the previous year? Think about all these rotation and game planning type decisions when making this nomination. Basically, who did the best with the team they had. And don't just say "I made great adjustments", explain what you did and why you did it and how it worked. Go into detail. Tell us why you truly deserve the first ever Coach of the Year Award!

Please break down why your nomination fits this bill and why your nomination deserves this award.

At the beginning of the season, I figured the Heat would be a playoff team, but I never would've figured they'd take their division early on and hold onto that lead throughout the season. Last year, the Heat made a move that I thought was a bit of a reset, dealing Devin Booker (in his prime) for Grayson Allen, who was already good, but perhaps a few years away from his own prime. And as good as Allen looks like he could be, there's no guarantee he'll ever be as good as Booker is.

The Heat also took on Timothy Pulley's contract, which seemed a little bit of a long overpay to me, but the numbers prove worthwhile, at least this year. Though the Nuggets were able to overcome home court disadvantage to knock the Heat out of the playoffs, I could make a case for Ryan easily to win coach of the year, but I think the Nuggets had a better big 3 (credit to Ryan's GMing), and the Heat had two orange orange players in their rotation.

I felt that logpmess outdid his team's expectations the most, and for that, he wins my nomination for Coach of the Year.
