Utah Jazz 2021-2022 Preseason Presser
Welcome everybody to the Utah Jazz's 2021‒2022 preseason press conference! As you all know, we had quite the eventful season last year, so we're excited to tell you what we've been up to as of late, as well as our immediate plans for the future.Last year was very much our breakout year. We posted a 53‒29 record, went to the playoffs, and made it (somehow, some way) all the way to the Finals! We'd like to think that it took a little bit of luck for us to reach that stage — all of our opponnets had better teams than us — yet somehow, our boys came through. Sure we got swept in 4 games, but at least we made it to the Finals.
During the off-season, we remained relatively quiet. We wanted to acquire some new talent, but at the same time our hands were tied due to finances. We still have Alton Towers on the books and, as much as we'd love to move him, it looks like he'll be sticking around for the time being. ALSO, we matched the Hawks' offer for Joseph Kight, ensuring he will remain with us for a real long ass time, which is great because him and JUICY JAMES are our future. We brought Kelly O'Quinn onboard because nobody else wanted to sign a vet minimum with us, but we think he can provide some good defense.
Training camp was interesting: Joseph Kight had some setbacks, but he has since recovered; Juicy James took a huge leap forward, as did J.R. "J/izz Rocket" Johnson; and everybody else not named Josh Smith seemed to have an understandable TC.
We went undefeated in the preseason. I think that should tell you everything you need to know about our team right now; we're simply, without doubt, the greatest team that's ever played the game of basket ball.
We're hoping this year that Juicy James, Kight, and J1zz Rocket can carry this team back to the finals. And you know what, Robert Neeley can come along for the ride too, why the hell not.
Oh and speaking of Robert Neeley, we ended up drafting a brand new back-up PG who has the exact same skillset as Robert Neeley, which ultimately makes him expendable to us. This Hammond dude can actually shoot threes, it's incredible, I don't think I've ever seen anything like this in my LIFE.
We'll now be taking questions!
