Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Springfield, Massachusetts, the site of the Basketball Hall of Fame.

It was a long road to get here for Jalen Rose. His candidacy was debated, kicked around, forgotten. And then it was ignited again. I think as time has gone on, people forget what a truly great athlete Jalen Rose was. Built in the same style as Penny Hardaway, a lot of people believe that this hurts Rose's candidacy. That he shouldn't be a Hall of Famer because his numbers pale in comparison. Ignoring the fact that everyone's does, Rose's numbers still place him among the elite. He leads the Bucks all time in assists, and is top 5 in nearly every other category, including rebounds. He went to 7 All Star games, made 4 All-PBSL teams, and was a noted playoff competitor. He played in 113 playoff games, starting 95 of them, and for a 4 year period he averaged 25/7/6 in the playoffs while shooting 51% from the floor. Though he came so close one year, he never won a championship. But the annals of history will not soon forget Jalen Rose, the Man of Milwaukee.

Congratulations and welcome to the Hall of Fame.
