Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Springfield, Massachusetts, the site of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Most of our inductees are synonymous with one team in particular, or at the most two teams. However, tonight we induct a man who was truly the PBSL's greatest mercenary. He impressed in his first few years in Chicago, but it was towards the end of his tenure there that he became a true threat, and soon after he was traded. And traded again. Sometimes it's a black mark on an elite player that gets traded so many times, and this man's personality is well known among front office executives. But Stephen Jackson carved out a new role for himself, going from team to team and making immediate impact. Though he never won a championship, he did make 6 all star games, 5 all-pbsl teams, 4 defensive teams, and won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2010. His commitment on both sides of the ball could not be denied, no matter what jersey he was wearing that day. So it is my pleasure to introduce, carrying the colors of nine teams on his back, our newest Hall of Famer...Stephen Jackson.
Thank you for coming, and good night.
