2018-2019 Proposition Results

Post by WigNosy »

We're still pending final counts on the last two propositions (11 and 12) but this post is written based on what is currently leading in those polls.

Prop 1 (Raises amount) - Raises of 5% and 7.5% won (17 to 4)

Effective in the 2019 off-season, these new maximums for raises will be used. These have already been incorporated into the salary checker and the league files. Note that existing contracts were unaffected by this Proposition.

Prop 2 (Repeal Player Renames) - Failed (18 to 4)
Prop 7 (Guidelines for Rookie Renames) - Passed (17 to 1)

Renaming of lotto picks continues to be a thing, but we implemented pre-approved sources for names and gave the commissioner discretion to approve/deny names not on those lists.

Prop 3 (College Heights.ini file) - Passed (15 to 7)

The new heights config file has already been applied to the college game on the simputer; it will begin affecting players generated this year (as incoming Freshmen were already generated as "prospects" the height change will begin taking effect with players whose college careers start in 2020).

Prop 4 (Waiver Process Revamp) - Passed (19 to 3)

The new waiver process will be implemented, replacing the old "Cheeks and Fleming" rule. The appropriate rules thread is updated here: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=5222&p=52626#p52626

Prop 5 (GM Team Change Process) - Failed (14 to 8)

No formalized procedure will be implemented for this at this time.

Prop 6 (Free TC Insurance) - Passed (19 to 3)

The good news is TC insurance is now free - but you are limited to 3 players.

Prop 8 - Passed (13 to 5)

MLE will be implemented and tax apron will be raised. The MLE is set at 8.5% of the cap (this starts at $8,030,476 this year and should track with the cap going forward, though may get off by a dollar per season from exactly 8.5% due to rounding)

Prop 9 - 110% of cap won (12 to 6)

The luxury tax apron will be raised to 110% of the cap in 2019. It will not increase after that.

Prop 10 - Implement Salary Floor and tie to luxury tax distribution - Failed (10 to 9)
Prop 11 - Implement Salary floor and tie to TC Insurance - Failed (11 to 7)

We will not be implementing a salary floor.

Prop 12 - Eliminate Rookie Contract Trainings - Passed (12 to 6)

Rookie Contract Trainings are being eliminated, though players that qualified for them this offseason based on minutes played in the 2018 season will still receive them.
