It's time again for a new season. The staff at FBB News have made their predictions for Divison winners, All-League Team, and All-Rookie Team. Do they have it right? I'll let you know where they are right and where they're wrong.
Atlantic Division
1. Sixers
2. Nets
3. Knicks
4. Raptors
5. Celtics
My take: I like this prediction. The Sixers have the deepest team in the and regular season is all about depth. The Nets and Knicks have star power in the starting 5 five, but a key injury could derail either of the two.
Central Division
1. Cavs
2. Pistons
3. Bulls
4. Pacers
5. Bucks
My take: I like what the Bulls and Cavs have done this offseason and could easily challenge for the division. I think the Cavs are the most balanced, but it will take alot to pass the Pistons so I think Detroit will win the division with the Cavs and Bulls in a close 2nd and 3rd. Don't sleep on the Pacers either. They have a great backcourt
Southeast Division
1. Magic
2. Hawks
3. Bobcats
4. Heat
5. Wizards
My take: This is an exciting 3-team race with three really good teams. I'm gonna give the edge to experience here where I see the Hawks and Bobcats battling for 1st and the Magic close by in 3rd. The Hawks have enough depth to sustain injuries in a long regular season.
Northwest Division
1. Blazers
2. Nuggets
3. TWolves
4. Thunder
5. Jazz
My take: This division is probably the best in a watered down West. The Thunder had a great preseason, the Blazers went all in, and the Nuggets are very good as well, but I like the TWolves repeating as divisional champs and hopefully can stay healthy entering the playoffs, but I could see all four teams being very good in this conference.
Pacific Division
1. Warriors
2. Suns
3. Clippers
4. Lakers
5. Kings
My take: Unfortunately, this division is not quite as good with the majority of teams starting over. This division could realistically get one team in the playoffs. I think the Warriors will get in.
Southwest Division
1. Grizzlies
2. Rockets
3. Mavs
4. Spurs
5. Pelicans
My take: This division has featured a team making a deep run the last three seasons. I think the Grizzlies can be the team this season. The have the depth to sustain injuries in a long regular season. Plus the Rockets are just one year older with fragile veterans.
All-League Team
C - DeAndre Jordan (Magic)
PF - Anthony Davis (Pistons)
SF - Kevin Love (Suns)
SG - Paul George (Magic)
PG - Gordon Hayward (Sixers)
My take: I think Love will be too slow to play SF this season andbe stuck making all-league second team at PF. Durant will have incredible numbers this season so he will get SF. I don't think Jordan puts up enough numbers to warrant a spot, so my surprise is Greg Monroe for the Hawks barely edging Enes Kanter and Brook Lopez. I'm think Derrick Rose will barely edge out Hayward and George will probably play SF so his teammate James Harden will get SG.
All- Rookie Team
C - Viacheslav Kravtsov (FA)
PF - Tom Collins (Mavs)
SF - Kevin Kowal (Pelicans)
SG - James Gebhart (Jazz)
PG - Dennis Smith Jr. (Bulls)
I think Kowal will get left off because the Pels will feel forced to start Aaron Gordon. Smith should be a lock. Krastov is 31 and not even on a team so good luck with that. Oh look, time ran out, gotta go!
