As your new Pickem coordinator, I've decided to switch things up. As I alluded to in my volunteer post, this season we are blatantly ripping off the NBA Autotrader game that the TNT crew plays. Now, before I get 29 replies asking "what the hell is that?!," here's how we're going to do this.
-Each sim (except for the All Star sim), pick one player and a game they're in that sim. That individual score will be tallied as noted below:
3-pt FG = 3pts
2-pt FG = 2pts
FT = 1pt
Rebound = 1.2pts
Assist = 1.5pts
Block = 3pts
Steal = 3pts
Turnover = -1pt
Using preseason as an example, GM Joe Schmoe picks Kevin Durant, 10/27 against Boston.
0 3's= 0 points
13 2pt= 26 points
6 FTs= 6 points
7 Rebounds= 8.4 points
1 Assist= 1.5 points
0 Blocks= 0 points
0 steals= 0 points
4 Turnovers= -4 points
TOTAL: 37.9 points
- When the Sim rolls to All Star break, we'll be doing something more conventional.
- So, smartass, you might be asking yourself "why don't I pick Anthony Davis every sim?" NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND. You can only pick a player ONCE a season, so choose wisely. Repeat picks will automatically result in being DQ'd for the sim.
-As an added twist, ONCE during the season you can use a TURBO BOOST- this multiplies your score 2x (it won't be doubled when compared to others for the weekly reward, but will be doubled when tallied for the season end score). You'll have to declare when you're using it, so no retroactive boost.
The winner of each Sim gets 3 points and 1 point to the 2nd place finisher. At the end of the season, we'll tally up the cumulative points and reward best individual totals (1 point for 3rd, 3 for 2nd, 5 for 1st). Lastly, we'll reward best Division total scores (1 point for 3rd, 3 for 2nd, 5 for 1st).
Any questions?
