PHILADELPHIA - A year ago not only did the Philadelphia 76ers signed a new GM in Prince Amour, but coming into that same season they went ahead and drafted big man Raef LaFrentz. Since then LaFrentz has been having a hard time adjusting to the PSBL, coming out of college, but is expected to be a bit more comfortable by next season.
So while fans are going to church praying for LaFrentz to find his breakthrough, The 76ers drafted Rip Hamilton, who immediately start bringing a needed energy off the bench.
After failing sadly to land a big during FA GM Amour went with a strategy of overstocking his team with, guards in hopes to gather trade talks; which led to the following and recent transactions.
As the Trade Deadline approached, the 76ers were very active. First they went ahead and moved the big man Don McClean to Atlanta for SG/SF Brian Stith, a six man of the year candidate from last season. Stith will now be joining another 6 man of the year candidate in Bobby Jackson. It is going to be exciting to see what Stith bring to Philly.
Beside landing Stith the 76ers went ahead a move Kevin Johnson in favor of landing a big man in Toni Kukoc. Toni will run the front line alongside the defensive stud of Adonal Foyle.
With KJ now departed from his 6ers uniform, the question remains, is it Peeler or Jackson who will PG the team? Jackson has been long awaiting his opportunity, while if Peeler was to move to PG, either Hamilton or Stith would move in at SG.
The Head Coach and GM are sitting at the table as we speak trying to come up with something.
We are asking everyone to weigh in on facebook and twitter, to give some thoughts and ideas as to what they think about the 76ers moves and what they think the 6ers should do going into next season.
