I imagine that since Jay is a min this should process. If not, we have agreed to a second trade that matches salary. Let me know.

I think you have to match salary...

It will be Harrington and Baxter that get added if it doesn't go through. I'll edit the original post and get 78 to reaccept if needed.

The reason I want to try this first is I'm not sure if Harrington and Baxter have been on my roster for 60 days. May need some clarification on that from an admin

If you acquired them in offseason, then you're good.
I'd defer to an admin if you need to match salary, but I do believe so.

Reworked to include the salary. I was cutting them anyway.

Not processed.

Jay Williams' salary is $1,068,170.

Harrington's salary is $843,292. Baxter's salary is $805,812. Total: $1,649,104

This trade would put the Rockets over the salary cap so salaries must match to within 125% of the lower salary (in this case, $1,068,170). Harrington and Baxter's combined salaries are 154% of Williams' salary so this trade is illegal.

Most seasons, free-for-all free agency happens on an in-game date that will allow players to be traded December 15th. This year it happened super late in-game (October 19th) so 60 days won't pass until December 17th. That is just a scheduling quirk and the reason we changed to half-month sims was specificially to avoid this problem.

Also, the real NBA rules say that off-season acquisitions, regardless of when they signed, are able to be traded December 15th.

That is the rule we are going with here as well. FFA signings can be traded after Sim 3 (ends December 15th). Note some other trades already processed were FFA signings as well and were processed for the same reason.

Would Harrington for Williams work?

Sorry but no. Salaries are 127% not 125%.

The Lakers are over the cap and cannot take on additional salary via trade without sending out players whose salary is close enough to match.

Didn't realize 78 was over the salary cap. I'll figure out a way before tomorrow.

True. AI is still on his roster right now. That should allow this to move through once AI is off the roster.

It's all because I traded House instead of these other FFA signings mainly because I didn't catch onto the timeline adjustment making them available for trade now and not next sim.

To be fair, Harrington is completely incapable of running the second unit. I need someone with some reasonable PG abilities. Williams is high-60s at the four categories that matter - HND, PAS, PRD, STL.

Plus, I'm broke.
