Anybody who submits a nomination can claim 1 point total for all nominations (excluding self-nominations).

Winning nomination gets an additional point awarded for the win.

Voting on nominations gets you an additional 3 points.

So nominating, voting, and having a winning nomination can get you a max of 5 points

Hakeem Olajuwon is my nomination for MVP. One of, if not the, best all around player. He's got elite offense and defense and is a big part for why the celtics are in the spot they are in

I'm going to challenge the claim of obvious reasons and invite you to check out the real MVP - John Stockton!!
He basically averaged the same amount of points as Michael Jordan.
He was second in the league with 11.7 assists per game, but importantly, led the league with THE Highest assist to turnover ratio.
He also led the league with 2.4 steals a game.
He's number 14 in the league from the stripe, and 13 from deep.
Without his leadership, Malone doesn't eat, or win at the same clip.

Only player in the league - 1st Team All League, and 1st Team All Defense!
