[Podcast] Chat with a Cat - Episode 35 (S10 - All-Star Weekend)

Post by WigNosy »

This was recorded after all-star weekend, but the focus is more on rule structure, particularly the draft, the lottery, and salary caps and why the Cat is of the opinion that sometimes you need to go back and ask "why did this get put in place" to understand why things are the way they are, and why making tweaks on top of tweaks may be worse than tearing things down to the studs and starting from scratch. So not too much on teams and a lot more on "league rule theorycrafting" - so if that's not your thing, sorry. Ventures not just into the NPBSL but the NBA historically, too.

This was a great podcast. I do feel like I absolutely agree with the idea that everyone has their own idea of fun in this game, and I found myself disagreeing with you a lot in this podcast because I think our ideas of fun are vastly different. Which is absolutely okay!

I really enjoyed hearing your viewpoints and would love more of these thousand foot view discussions. I'll also buy the game if needed.

I also think getting rid of the draft would not necessarily get rid of tanking especially if you kept the years the same as they are now. You’d just have people selling off their big contracts to make sure they have the cap for Shaq in 1992
