No seriously though, I don’t have a plan for this season. I didn’t have much of a plan last season. I had a lot of reason to hope after a decent few sims to kick off the season and I watched that slowly trickle into injurious defeat in round 1 of the playoffs (which isn’t to say I would have made it past round 2 - I would not have done that).
Hats off to the Bucks and the Lakers on kick ass seasons and the most nailbiting finish of any sim final I’ve ever seen. You cannot be more closely matched than that. You both should walk away with the W (or the L, I don’t care) honestly. If the commish hit “sim” 7 or 8 times you’d probably have 7 or 8 flip flopped results. So sorry it wasn’t simmed best out of 3 on game 7 Lakers, Maybe you…still would have lost.
Aint none of that got anything to do with my shitty ass team, though. Look, we need hailmary offers, okay? For the present or future. I don’t care. I got win-nows, I got 3 ‘87 picks, what you wanna do? I’ll do whatever. Hell, I’ll stand pat and pay 2nd yr repeater tax on a fringeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee playoff team, too! I really don’t give a damn!
If you think you got something interesting to dish that would whet my whistle, come correct. I’ll spend… (checks lux tax thread, checks cap…) 37 points on this bunk ass team, I don’t give a Frye!
Anyway, all hail the great Tom Chambers and the great defense of Alton Lister and the extended great career of Robert <expletive deleted> Parrish, who’s got the first question.
I know you said you do not have a plan but Kevin Johnson is in the upcoming draft would you consider tanking to get a shot at drafting Johnson? Also is everyone available for trade?
Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: This strikes me as more of a trade block post than a preseason presser. Do you plan to be active this season on the trade market, or wait for offers to come to you that you will most likely hate?
Is there any particular reason to not having a plan? It seems like this team could make a solid playoff run with mayboe one or two moves throughout the season
I will say that seeing you pay taxes for the team you had last season was pretty disappointing.
How competitive would you have to be to double down and do it again??

I'm open to trading anyone / everyone / no one. Tom Chambers, Alton Lister, John Bagley and Scotty Skiles are probably the toughest gets.
I like how Kevin Johnson is looking, definitely; however, I'm not ready to tank yet. I don't have a roster built for tanking so I cannot think that way yet. I've avoided tanking thus far in NPBSL and I will stay that way until there's no other viable path forward...which could be post sim 3. who knows?

I've had a few offers come in that I mostly haven't liked. To be honest, there were some I did like but I didn't / couldn't pull the trigger for one reason or the other. I can't stress enough that I could or could not trade, I really don't give a shit. I haven't paid close enough attention to seek out best possible returns, so I won't be active, but I'll keep the phone nearby just in case something interesting rolls in. And I do have some interesting ideas pending...

Yeah, this team could be great! But I haven't had time with a 7 week old kid to figure out how to make that work. So, I know I have some interesting piece, for the future and for the now. If you got ideas, bring'em! Otherwise I don't see me having time to independently make this team viable for a 'ship, but I'm not tearing down for the sake of tearing down, either. I think GMs are waiting for me to give up and ship Parrish for 15pts, and ya know? This is the first year I might listen to that offer, depending how he plays. We shall see.

Honestly, I'm just paying hard ball. I don't think 37 points is that much to pay to avoid getting hosed in a bad trade. And what did I pay last year? 10 points? Guys, we're talking pennies here. How unnecessarily frugal is NPBSL about to be?! I will scream if a championship team doesn't pay any tax. SCREAM.
I also see a bunch of teams that can eat salary if the worst comes to worst. Keeping options open and a willingness to pay 37 points (which I can earn back in a pretty mid tier season anyway) is not a big deal to me at. all. So I'm ready to steer this ship in any direction the winds demand of me!
