Welcome in everybody to the Supersonics S6 Presser. BigDaddyD back again and I am really excited for this season.
First, we'll start with last season. While we suffered yet another first round exit, I believe it is something we can build on and finally get ourselves into the next round and hopefully further. Our guys played their hardest and brought the Kings to Game 7 even after being down two key players in Thompson and Cook. Cook was a menace on defense on season and we missed his intensity while Thompson was a reliable scorer and rebounder. Cook came back to help us force Game 7 but we came up just short. I'm hoping the work that everybody put in this offseason will help us stay healthy so we can really see what this team looks like in the playoffs with everybody playing. But enough about the past, let's talk about this season.
Of course our priority was to bring Schayes back and we got him. Then we found out nobody wanted him this offseason and I can't wait to see him make everybody feel foolish about that. We added a lot of depth to our team this season in the draft and free agency and I really feel like this team is poised to make some noise this season. We have 7 players who are starting caliber players and then another 3-4 really good rotational players. Brewer and Eaton being our 6-7, Rory and Stan give us plenty of defensive guard depth. Then Wiggins and Pickney are likely to round out the end of bench with Catledge also possibly getting some good minutes. And I know preseason doesn't mean success but it really looked like they played well together. While we did give up more points than we typically do, we also showed that we can score with the best of them. We have some changes in mind that we think can help with that.
All in all, I'm really looking forward to this season and truly believe this will finally be the season we get through the first round.
I will now open it to any questions you may have
