Supersonics Presser:
Welcome in, welcome in to the one and only Supersonic Press Conference. Please have a seat, no need to stand and clap for me. Oh and be sure to help yourself to our delicious spread of food we have provided.
*audience looking around like “what is he talking about? Nobody is standing”*
Let’s get this show started, we have a lot to be excited about!
First, let’s talk about last season. We know we didn’t win it all but last season was a success that we hope to build on moving forward. We all remember that 9 win season but we made some moves, drafted Wilkins, and we came storming back to a 41 win season and a playoff appearance. We are hopeful this will mean better things to come in the future. We even had to go through the toughest division in the league to get to the playoffs and we handled our own. We loved having Kareem on our team, as well as Ray Williams, but we also felt we had to go a different direction in order to really push our team forward. We are forever grateful for the work they put in to help our team grow and be better prepared for the future. Also, how about that #3 defense in the league? We’re hoping we can replicate that again this upcoming season. Now while we are excited for how last season went, we are definitely not satisfied. We’re hungry for more and we believe we can go even further this season.
Now to talk more about this season. I will be honest, the vision I had for this team before the draft is different than what we have now. We were thrown a curveball and had to adapt but I still believe we’re in a better position than we were before. We were sad to have to deal away our 1st round pick in Steve Stipanovich and wish him the best of luck, hopefully we can find a way to get him to return to us in the future. But we made some moves and got Mychal Thompson, RIckey Green, and Purvis Short who we believe are ready to take this team to the next level. Schayes, Wilkins, and Cook all took a step forward this TC and now everyone looks like a true veteran. We have the ability to have 6 players who can start so hopefully that works in our favor. And we look like we have a strong core in place for the next few seasons. As long as we can find a way to generate some more offense than last season, we should be able to improve on the 41 wins.
I will now open it up for any questions.
