Hello Everyone and welcome to the Sprus presser. We Like to thank everyone for joining us. Last season did not go as planned as our goal to make the post season failed. We did end up with a top 10 pick but due to our draft day trade the season prior, the Pistons reaped the benefits of that pick. Speaking of the trade, Mark Aguirre had a wonderful rookie season even though we had him playing out of position. Isiah Thomas rookie year started out slow but he finished strong as he seemed pick up the game, learning the dos and don'ts. Kevin McHale had great season. He's the leader of the team and showed it this past season on and off the court. We are hoping to build on the things from last season.
After not having a draft pick we did put Mchale out there during the draft in hopes of getting one of two players we really liked but failed. Which isn't a bad thing. Sometimes it's good to stay pat. Maybe not trading him was a good thing. There were other's we wanted later in the 1st but unfortunately could not get them and we just ended up with 3 players going into UFA. We thought with cap space and opportunity we could sign players but soon found out that this was going to be tough. No one wanted to sign with us not even these yellow guys but it is what it is. We didn't really fill out our roster until the morning of preseason. That's how bad it had gotten. All in all it's all good. My big 3 core all had wonderful camps and we are hoping to see major individual improvements from them. The future is bright in San Antonio.
I know I just rambled but with that said I will open up the floor to questions and as always will answer to the best of my ability.
What's more important to the Spurs' front office right now: the 1984 draft, or developing McHale, Aguirre and Thomas to their highest potential? Will these players' offseason growth change your W-L record for the better?

A top 1984 draft pick would be nice but most of the league will be trying at tanking for that draft. I want to build on what I have currently but still will need to be terrible this season at least before these guys become too good and overcome my tank attempt. hope that answered your question.
The future is indeed bright, what if you had to put a number on the W-L record what would it be? What are your legit expectations for this season? Think you can possibly squeeze into one of the last playoff spots this season with some crafty DC planning?
The Spurs definitely have some offensive prowess, but don't have the same ability on the other end. What sort of ways do you plan to toughen up your defense to be able to have a productive season?

I am hoping my win/loss record is the worst of all in the league. My expectations is that my big 3 will put up great numbers but lose cause of lack of depth. I do not expect to make the post season this year. The west is stacked and will most likely become a blood bath at some point.

Marc H. Morial, Englewood Press: The future in San Antonio looks bright but where is the one area of concern about the young Spurs?
We have a few areas of concern. Lack of depth, Lack of defense, Lack of PF and lack of SG. We have concerns everywhere outside of our Big 3. Hopefully we will address it soon when it's time to make a playoff push.

Unfortunately there isn't a way currently. McHale is the only guy that plays defense. We will just have to try and out score teams if possible but I am ok with an L in a close high scoring game. A productive season for me is seeing the guys improving individually.
