Welcome to the Cavs Preseason Presser. We are pleased to welcome the league's favorite GM.
GM jlmarines: Last season we lost the first round in the playoffs. Disappointed season. I think our weakness was our depth chart. This year we focused on our bench players. Speed is Cavaliers DNA. We are excited with our first round draft pick SG/PG Quintin Dailey. SG Dailey plays with a fearless style and he's willing to put his body on the line, and initiate contact in order to make plays. We are also pleased to sign veteran leader SF Randy Smith. SF Smith has great defensive upside with his long arms and great ability to move laterally, and score points. SF Smith is also a freak athlete that can steal the ball.
GM jlmarines: Our next order of business was signing nasty dawgs that are not afraid to fight for rebounds. We singed free agent C Jeff Wilkins. C Wilkins is a hustler who plays with determination, grittiness, and willingness to sacrifice himself. C Wilkins will provide immediate depth for our leader. C Rick Mahorn. C Mahorn is ready to die for the Cavs.
GM jlmarines: But don't forget about SF/SG Jim Paxson and SG Sidney Moncrief. Both, SF Paxson and SG Moncrief are ready to lead. Both, had great training camps. SF Paxson is locked in on the ball, willing to go get it, and there’s not a whole lot anybody can do about it. SG Moncrief is ready to destroy anyone in front of him.
GM jlmarines: Overall, we signed bench players that have athletic abilities and the tools to finish plays and defend their position. We believe our bench players are much better than last season. We are excited to sign key veteran players such as PG Mike Newlin and and SG Billy Ray Bates.
GM jlmarines: Here's are starting 5 for the current moment and subject to change:
C: Rick Mahorn
PF: Joe Meriweather
SF: Jim Paxson
SG: Sidney Moncrief
PG: Kevin Carter
Your team often gets overlooked in media discussions about who can win the East despite back-to-back playoff appearances. Why do you think that is the case?
Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: I know you mention depth a lot here, but who on your roster is the go to guy from your starters? Who do you plan on keying up in your gameplan?

Who knows. But, the Cavs enjoy being the underdog. Maybe, because I didn't join discord group chat. Can't exposed Cavs secrets. Plus, there is no friends in SIMs. In the meantime, I'll enjoy being overlooked.

SF Jim Paxson. He's a freak athletic. All he does is score points. And he can move. Gameplan is simple. Give the ball to Paxson. I expect Paxson to score 30 points per game. Thank you for your question.
Steve Duin, Blazers beatwriter for the Oregonian...
Piggybacking off the question about being overlooked, the downside to making the playoffs is that you've had picks outside the lottery... of your young players that you've drafted over the past couple of years, do any of them project to make an impact on your squad this season, and if so, how do you expect them to impact you?

Agree. If, rookie SG Quintin Dailey, is committed, and ready to die for the Cavs, I think we can develop him. He has the tools to be a top scorer. Again, that will depend on Dailey. In Cleveland, we sleep with our shoes on. He needs to prepare on limited water breaks. Mission first. Thank you for your question.

Do you see this team as constructed a playoff team?
Of course. I believe in the big 3, Mahorn, Paxson, and Moncrief. I think if we stick with our gameplan, we can be successful. Thank you for your question.
