Seattle's SuperSonic Presser

*soft murmur in the crowd as reporters patiently await for the presser to start*
Reporter 1: "y'all here about the new commisioner?"
Reporter 2: "yea, not sure how that happened. The guy hasn't been in the league that long and already thinks he can run it? Doubtful. He couldn't even stick to his original schedule of when the season would start. Plus he's been blabbering on about 2061 since he got here. We all know this world is ending in the year 2000."
Reporter 3: "Yea, but I hear he's got a lot of energy and people within the league seem to already like him"
Reporter 2: "Like him? Most of the league doesn't even know him and he expects everyone to just let him have control over this league? I give him maybe 2 seasons before he is out"
Reporter 3: "Well let's see what you think about him after I finish my presser"
Reporter 2: "What do you mean "when you....Oh my god!!!"
That's right everybody, It is I, GM of the Seattle Supersonics and Commissioner of the Greatest Sim League this world will ever know. Welcome in to our Preseason presser!
First, I would like to thank everyone for allowing me to be Commissioner. It's still kinda strange, almost feels like a dream. One minute I was GM of some team called the New Orleans Pelicans in the year 2061 and the next minute I'm waking to find out I've been name Commissioner in the year 1980. Weird stuff, y'all. As I've said before, I really look forward to making this league even more than it used to be and will do everything in my power to keep this league running smoothly. There will be some bumps along the way, as you may have noticed already, but rest assured, I have the best crew to help me along the way and soon everything will be running seamlessly. Just bare with me this season and we will make sure this train gets rolling and doesn't ever stop!
Next, I would like to talk about my team. I admit, I didn't really have a set plan going into the draft. I kinda wanted to just see who fell to me in the draft and go from there. In my other life, I had experience bringing a team near rock bottom into the playoffs so I expect nothing less than that this time around. We may not get the results in year 1, but you will definitely see those results in the near future. I drafted Robert Parish because I felt like he would was the best option after the Big 3. He's got a lot of experience and can really help build the younger guys up. And he's only 27 so hopefully when the younger guys are hitting their peaks, he'll still be playing at an elite level and can be the piece we need to push us deep into the playoffs. I also feel good about the rest of our bigs, I see a lot of rebounding in our future. We have two young guards that are ready to play now and I feel they can make an impact quickly. If those two develop they way I see them developing, then this team will be a very dangerous one for years to come.
Overall, I expect a slow start but once we get started, we won't be stopping until we get that boat!. Thank you all for coming out to my presser and I will now open it to anyone who has any questions.
