Hey Everyone, sorry for the delay but without further delay here is the ballot for this years awards. I am going to give a full week to vote. The ballots will then be due on May 31st at 10PM Central. I will also be sending out a PM of a smaller version of the ballots to make it easier for anyone to vote that way.

You are to vote for the top three winners, ranking them in order from best to third best, in your response PM to me. If you wish to only rank one, two, or none at all in a category that is fine.

Enjoy

MVP Listen, without Safi, this team is a dumpster fire. With him, my Lakers are fighting for the last playoff spot (and the division) and above .500 surprisingly.

Safi is currently averaging:

21.8 points (21st) 9.7 rebounds (7th) 6.5 assists (Tied 25th) 3.0 blocks (6th) along with a 24.8 PER, 1.2 STLs, and in the top 10 of 3P shooting.

If it's his final Laker season, he's going out on a high note.

Sion James: Carrying that organization on his back.
: With 2 sims left to go, he's putting up 20.6/11.0/6.8 with 1.7 steals to boot (putting him in the top 20 in the league there). He's shooting over .400 from 3 and is one of only 2 players in the top 10 for offensive efficiency, defensive efficiency, and player efficiency rating (the other is Remy Martin, available this offseason). Mac also has almost 20 EWA this season. He's everything I was hoping he would be last season when he was out for months with a severe concussion. Some guys are putting up monster numbers with no other options on their team. Mac is putting up these numbers on a team that's absolutely shredded.

Mike Lowry wrote: Thu May 02, 2024 12:49 pm Trade of the Year was the Daniel Johnson move.

Johnson is a player everyone is tracking, real stud.
Dyson is a good return as a legit prospect and Warley and Conover are serviceable.
The Raptors walked away with Chavez for Warley.
Good pivot for the Celtics, great acquisition for the Lakers, free money for the Raptors.

The Phil Trade.

Obviously it did not end up the way that Nate would have wanted it to, but that broken leg cause a butterfly effect that impacted multiple teams. The Hawks got new life with a possible future MVP candidate, which also probably helped the Mavs get Looney since the Hawks would choose to get younger around Herman. After the break, the Suns eventually would come to me for Banchero to get me another young piece. The Magic would eventually get his hands on Johnny Davis cause of this deal (and the Suns get Bricker and the Pistons stack up their bench).

Sorry Markus. You deserved better.
I want to go on record as saying that it's not an exciting looking trade, and it's little more than a friendship trade. The Grizzlies don't get much out of this. The biggest thing the Grizzlies get is Ernesto Cruz, who sucks, but he has full bird rights so that K-100 can plunge into the tax again. For the Cavs, they were 13-21 before this trade and 30-10 after this trade. It probably made a difference there. But really, I want the nomination point because the AB tree probably votes as a block if they vote at all, so it's probably a surer bet than any of the many blockbuster trades that Roberto or Nick made this season.

Black Superman wrote: Fri May 10, 2024 10:39 am My nomination goes to Suns/Pistons/Magic for trade of the year. Very balanced trade with all parties winning! Suns keep a PG on the roster beyond this year. Magic get the superstar. And pistons get depth whether they wanted it or not. Plus some believe The depth piece on the pistons was a mole, maybe he's the mole that Drake sent to Kendrick. Pop culture and rap beef have infiltrated sim league. We famous y'all!

Article of the Year
I just appreciate Nate getting into this part of the game, and I definitely think it's fun to get the commish's perspective on things in general. Especially since the commish isn't me anymore.
If I need to pick one I'll pick the last one. Having fallen in love with one of my players fulla numbers to the point that I wrote my own articles but him, I love that Safi brought Mamba back to the media-sphere inspired and ready to rumble. Sometimes it can be hard to start a series and finish it for the full 10 points, but Mamba pulled it off and got better along the way.

Like the season at large, all i can say is: nice.

IamQuailman wrote: Wed May 01, 2024 3:46 pm Can I just do the cop out and say I love you all? There's a unique group of people in this league, some new some here since the very beginning. Each relationship I have with yall is different and I don't wanna put value on them or pit them against one another. There's some of the newer GMs that I don't know as well as others, but time will come. But if I had to pick one person, it's the single individual I've known longest in the league..... @digiskunk ! We go back to 1998 AOL AIM CHAT days bruh, before this game was even conceived. He's a wildcard, an enigma, usually high or drunk or both, and always got a story to tell... whether or not it's appropriate for the occasion is always up for discussion. But deep down he's just a kind hearted guy who even when times get tough, he's cheery and ready to laugh and usually drawing a picture of some dude grinding a skateboard down an elongated penis or something. <3 Gary
