S69 Nickelodeon Trade of the Year

Post by AngryBanana »

Anybody who submits a nomination can claim 1 point (excluding self-nominations)

Max is 1 point, even if you submit nominations in other categories

Winning nomination gets an additional point like last season

Submit your nominations by the due date and time for sim 12

LINK YOUR AWARD NOM, if you do not link, the item will still be posted but if it wins - the person that nominated will not get the points.

Trade of the Year was the Daniel Johnson move.

Johnson is a player everyone is tracking, real stud.
Dyson is a good return as a legit prospect and Warley and Conover are serviceable.
The Raptors walked away with Chavez for Warley.
Good pivot for the Celtics, great acquisition for the Lakers, free money for the Raptors.
What cha gonna do

The Phil Trade.

Obviously it did not end up the way that Nate would have wanted it to, but that broken leg cause a butterfly effect that impacted multiple teams. The Hawks got new life with a possible future MVP candidate, which also probably helped the Mavs get Looney since the Hawks would choose to get younger around Herman. After the break, the Suns eventually would come to me for Banchero to get me another young piece. The Magic would eventually get his hands on Johnny Davis cause of this deal (and the Suns get Bricker and the Pistons stack up their bench).

I'm going to nominate Cavs/Grizzlies:

Sorry Markus. You deserved better.
I want to go on record as saying that it's not an exciting looking trade, and it's little more than a friendship trade. The Grizzlies don't get much out of this. The biggest thing the Grizzlies get is Ernesto Cruz, who sucks, but he has full bird rights so that K-100 can plunge into the tax again. For the Cavs, they were 13-21 before this trade and 30-10 after this trade. It probably made a difference there. But really, I want the nomination point because the AB tree probably votes as a block if they vote at all, so it's probably a surer bet than any of the many blockbuster trades that Roberto or Nick made this season.

My nomination goes to Suns/Pistons/Magic for trade of the year. Very balanced trade with all parties winning! Suns keep a PG on the roster beyond this year. Magic get the superstar. And pistons get depth whether they wanted it or not. Plus some believe The depth piece on the pistons was a mole, maybe he's the mole that Drake sent to Kendrick. Pop culture and rap beef have infiltrated sim league. We famous y'all!
