S68 42PHD Coach of the Year Nominations

Post by AngryBanana »

This will differ from GM of the Year. GM will focus on the moves made throughout the season. Coach will focus on how the team performed compared to how they should have (showing that the person gameplanned well and was able to get the most out of his team).

Anybody who submits a nomination can claim 1 point (excluding self-nominations)

Max is 1 point, even if you submit nominations in other categories

Winning nomination gets an additional point like last season

Submit your nominations by Friday, March 1st @ 8:00pm CST

Doug.

Look, the roster has 3 purple potential players, all of which can also play currently, so them being successful shouldn't be a shock in the slightest. However, the Rockets came out to such a huge division lead that it looked elementary. However, credit to Doug for grinding during the season, working the gameplanning, and going into the final sim only 1 game back with a real shot at stealing the conference #1 seed.

@PaulyP gets my nod here. Let's face it, look at all these purple filled teams out there and teams loaded with talent doing much less. Not to say Pauly's team isn't talented, but despite less talent than other teams in the league, Pauly knows how to maximize his players' strengths and put them all in a position to win. As a result, he's locked into the #2 seed in his conference and on his way to yet another division title. Congrats again on another stellar season, brother.

Mexican Mamba.

I'm not going to jinx them and say they're going to win it all, but I will say Mamba put the team together to do it. Mamba stayed aggressive on the trade market and pushed all his chips in for what could be the end of the Safi era. So, he made a great team and played them to perfection. Hell, if he pulls off losing all of the games in the final sim so his W record remains 69 (nice), he's the coach of the sim decade.
Somehow I manage.

I'm going to nominate Black Superman.

Though the Suns were apparently tanking this season, he recognized a weak conference at the right time and seized the opportunity to sneak into the playoffs by going all out with game planning. There were a lot of teams that were good that were supposed to be and a lot that were bad that were supposed to be, and the Suns still aren't great or anything, but getting into the playoffs with that little margin of error took the right game plan (and a little luck, to be honest).

Coach of the Year nomination for me is 78. Dude is winning but in different ways whatever DC he put in whether the pace is at 0 or 10, inside or balanced they win. He knows his team and will be a tough to deal with in the post season.
