SEASON 66 - LIVE FROM TORONTO PENNY'S PRESS CONFERENCE

Post by pennpanther1 »

Hey everybody,

Penny is back! You probably do not recognize me since I decided to turn everything upside down and make a title run for the first time in my career. How did we get here? Well, I was tired of overacheiving all season only to lose heartbreakers in Round 1 to really good teams. Instead, if I am going to get eliminated I am going to go all-in and let the chips fall where they may.

I started this offseason with two plans. First, try and acquire a frontcourt presence to pair with Kevon Looney. Second, acquire Markus Ridenhour. I sent several offers around the league for frontcourt help but nobody seemed interested until I reached out to K-100 and the Memphis Grizzlies who agreed to ship out Angelo Romero in exchange for Jason Edelstein. Part 1 was complete. Now the hard part, convincing the Warriors that Ridenhour deserved a homecoming. I thought my trade was going to be rejected instantly but greepleairport was more than happy to negotiate. I am sad we had to say goodbye to Kamari Brown but Markus Ridenhour is a former Finals MVP. These kind of players do not hit the open market often so I needed to pay up. I'm super stoked to welcome him back to the 6ix. I really like the potential of this lineup, particularly on the defensive end. I think we have played the elite teams pretty well over the past two seasons but we always lacked that alpha dog who could take over the game if needed. Markus Ridenhour is that player now.

I am excited to get the season started. I know other teams around the league have started to take notice of us but I do not think we have entered the contender conversation yet. I know after a few sims, people will change their minds. The Lakers are still the cream of the crop but Penny is gunning for them because this squad is the best I've ever had.

Thank you for your time. Any questions?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: You mention that you're not in the contender conversation yet. What areas do you need to improve to get into that conversation, and what avenues can you take to get there?

Do you have any concerns with Ridenhours camp?

May need to upgrade the SF spot if Chris Jackson struggles against superior competition. I also need to figure out my reserve minutes. Nobody on the second unit stands out yet so I'm hoping to find an answer there soon too. I have Tony Lee on the trade block to make changes if needed.

It sucked to see his athleticism take a hit. I was hoping I could stave off the age issue for at least a season. All in all I'm not too concerned though because he is still a stud.

Jamie Lee Curtis, Halloween: Michael "Myers" Moore was a menace last season, averaging nearly 12 points per game whilst simulatenously stalking his sister. Now that I've changed my name and moved from Haddonfield, what do you think his stats will look when this season is said and done?

Give me 6/6/6 for Mr. Stabby. I do not know in exactly what categories but steals is definitely one of them.
