S65 Town Hall #10

Post by Darth Vegito »

Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful(and I stress THOUGHTFUL) answers which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.

Deadline Friday 5:00 pm, Sim #10.

QUESTION:

With about 3 sims left to the playoffs, the playoff picture is a bit more clear and the trade deadline has come and passed, who is making it to the Finals and why?

Warriors are finals bound because duh, we've been the best team all season long. We lost our 6th man for two months, and all the games he was out last sim, we still won. We have the highest point diff... etc.

I've said it before and will say it again, the Bucks are coming to the finals. Maybe the Pacers, but probably the Bucks. They've sat at the middle of the top for the entire season, and have the best front court in PBSL. Wemby and Ware are ballers. They added Larry Williams. This team is jacked and I love them and I think they will be tough to beat.
Somehow I manage.

I'm going to go obvious here and say the Lakers and the Warriors since they have the two best records. Even after trading Hancock, the Lakers were still strong in the last sim, and I think Safi and Paolo are enough to take advantage of other teams. Roberto's been reverse cursing himself all year, so I hope to reverse reverse curse him because this team's going to be scary enough as it is when they're not resetting the tax. Omega's got a couple teams that could do it, but I don't think there's much of an answer for the Warriors' defense, unfortunately, because they've got tall players who all play good PSD. I hope to reverse curse them too because it'd be cool to see a mix-up this year.

I want to be different but also these aren't outlandish teams. Give me rockets and bucks.
Why? Because I want to see new teams there. Also I want to see some youth lead a team for a change. Give me SION as finals MVP.

I will say Pelicans and Bucks. Let’s get some fresh blood in there, and it is a different answer from most. I do think it will be them and the Lakers/Warriors in the conference finals. The pelicans have been very dynamic since the trade deadline and I think will scare any team they face with their star players. The Bucks were a tough out last year and have only gotten better, while most teams have actually regressed that were around them.

When I say this, I also realize that the Lakers will probably win it all because they aren’t such a big favorite anymore.

I'm going with the Warriors and Pacers. They're both top 3 in least points allowed, both scoring above 110 a game on average, and have excellent road records. The other options either aren't scoring a lot (Rockets) or have a road record that isn't good even though they're fantastic at home.

Bucks vs Warriors

The Lakers' bad luck continues and Milwaukee's Twin Towers will reign supreme in Alpha while the Warriors will continue to show Omega who is top dog. I think the Bucks will make it interesting but barring another major injury to Golden State I just dont see anyone challenging greeple too much on his path to the 3-peat

Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans

The Lakers run continues to amaze me. They restock on younger talent without ever losing a step. It is incredible. The Pelicans made a big splash at the trade deadline to acquire Antonio Blakeney and I am looking forward to seeing them face off against the defending champions. Penny loves this boldness too much to pass up so let us pick the upset and the Pels top the Warriors.

Bucks vs Warriors

Wembanyama could be the MVP and this is one of the few front courts who could dominate even against the Warriors. 4 teams could realistically push through in Alpha and none of them would be a huge surprise but I think front courts really take over in the playoffs. Warriors because they just took 2 titles when they didn't look like the best team, and now they do and are. Not sure anyone gets past a game 6 with them regardless, but we'll see.

Lakers Vs. Warriors

SoCal vs NorCal. Warriors pts differential is +14.6, which is the best in the league. Lakers average 122pts per game, which is the highest in the league. With both teams scoring so many pts, it will be too difficulty to see another team making it to the finals. Lakers will play tough, however I think the Warriors will win another ring.
