Well, first, I have some work to do to get beneath the tax threshold so let's see how that part goes. However, I will probably do a bit of both of the things you've mentioned. I certainly am deciding on which player(s) to drop some points into at this very moment. I'm eyeing two in particular, one of which is probably already built to be the proper #3 behind Karlo and Safi: Sir Charles Alleman. However, I won't dump every dime I have into training because my goals definitely extend beyond this season, so I'll need to be tax conscious on some level.AngryBanana wrote:Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: With the points you are due to get within the next few seasons (hopefully) with your references and what is appearing to be a playoff team in an under tax year. Do you plan to pump points into any players to bump them up to go with Karlo and Safi in the next run, or save it to prolong your potential championship run?
I have not had my willingness to shed money altered by the preseason. I think that if I let this team ride, it can be a top 5 team in the league. However, it's absolutely not as dangerous as last season's squad, sans Bone and He Hor and we didn't even make the Finals. More importantly, looking at my finances, I see an opening next off-season to put myself into position for a multi-season run at a chip or multiple, if I play my cards right. To do that with confidence, a tax reset would be incredibly beneficial. I think the longer game is the right one at this juncture.garbageman wrote:Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Sources inside the league (and your trade block) suggest that you're not completely in all-in mode despite having a very strong team. Has preseason changed your mind at all or do you feel like this team is still lacking anything to be a surefire championship contender?
Believe me, I wish I had a specific reason why he's been this productive because I'd bottle it up and give it to everyone ha. Unfortunately, I think it's just a lot of luck and how raw Safi was compared to his potential, meaning he's had nowhere to go but WAY UP.greepleairport wrote:What in the ever loving heck are you feeding Safi to have the #1 TC for a fourth season in a row?
I think this is the Benjamin Button of Al Horford.MexicanMamba wrote: Sat Nov 12, 2022 5:09 pmBelieve me, I wish I had a specific reason why he's been this productive because I'd bottle it up and give it to everyone ha. I'm not really for or against it, honestly. If that move had a ton of support and seemed to be the majority? I'm good with it. As I understand it though, it takes some work to get started and I don't currently feel up to spearheading the process. So, if it is to happen, someone else would have to tackle it, though I'd certainly be fine with helping control the day-to-day operations once the initial reset was completed.K-100 wrote:Are you for resetting the league? If not, would you be more open if you win a title in the next few seasons?
It's all about prioritizing the right players. For instance, you'll almost never find me spending points training 30 year old players. Either they're already maxed out or TC will probably take those attributes away again really quickly. I'm also not likely to train players which i see as nothing more than trade bait, unless that training seriously upgrades their trade value. I save my Trainings for young, raw guys who I think can develop into an All-Star type player. The other "rule" I generally follow, though this is completely just preference, I only train potentials for young players in the early going. I won't start training current attributes until the player has started to establish themselves.pennpanther1 wrote:Hi MexicanMamba,
Thanks for all your help getting me started this season. How do you approach training when you have a nice mix of veteran players and young talent on the squad?
