POWERRR Rankings Season 60

Post by AngryBanana »

Welcome all - I will do my best to have these updated as often as possible, but no guarantees that it will be done every sim (Esp. once I fall off from being the top team, I would like to thank my blowout win this season for that being the case. I will drop off quick I am sure.)

I can not get the photo to embed, so you will have to work with the web version for this sim.

I’d love to know the methodology a little better. What do you factor? What don’t you?
6 Rings. That's it. That's the tweet.

Ok, we have a new team atop the rankings. I did my best Pauly P, and flaked out the top spot after my team was brought back to reality some after a great first sim.

It makes a lot more sense that it is this team as they have really built a strong team in the big easy to play in that ugly stadium they have... maybe its not as ugly in 2049??? Congrats to the PELICANS for gaining the top spot in our rankings.

Anyways, we also have big riser in the Nuggets jumping up 7 spots while the Magic fell 6 spots towards, well who knows. Also, the intentionally anemic Spurs (didn't we ban tanking?) are falling further down to 11th place. I hope that they get the 11th pick after next sim as a result!

In other areas, the Cavs jumped up a spot thanks to K100s quasi managing of the Cavs this sim for JLM ( I think he deserves at least .5 pts and the cavs 2nd round pick for that,) and surprsingly the Hawks are in last even though their record is not even among the bottom 3!

Stay tuned for more rankings as we move through the season (or at least until next friday's sim where I go on cruise control for ~18 real days).

Editors Note: I see that the actual points are not showing and I will try to fix that for Friday's results that will go up on Monday of next week more than likely.

Further shake up across the board as the power rankings are starting to level out some with more of a sample size to work with.

Some things keep making sense, like the Cavs being a bottom feeder team. The #1 Pistons have come back from a lower initial rankings and are now tied with the Pelicans for first place (I know it says they jumped them, but numerically they are tied.)

The Bucks staying pat at #3 and maybe moving up after once again calling players up from their feeder/affiliate the #13 ranked Jazz (Writer's Note: Maybe he used the "sources" account to help him close the deal out yesterday?) Maybe now they will have the fire power to be able to back up their hype they have been spewing in the Skype chat (which I whole heartedly approve).

The Bulls also make a jump up to #4 after tying for the highest jump with the # 7 Spurs (who should be a playoff team, and remind me of my Thunder team from last year of having a good roster but trying like heck to get a good pick for the young start after a slow start.) Finally The Wizards round out the top 5, where they are really showing that X's plan for building a team is in fact working as he predicted going back to last season. The trio of Boroquez, Hodges, and newly signed Bam are playing very well together.

Other things of note in the rankings. I think we will still need a few sims to round out a more accurate representation of what is a true ranking, as we are still early in the season. Certain teams will continue to rise (#15 Magic and #9 Lakers) while others will continue to fall (#11 Timberwolves and unfortunately the #16 Suns after that injury).

I have a few teams that I am also interested in to see how they do as the season continues. I'd love to see if the #2 Pelicans can keep up this run, especially as the division gets easier after the #13 Jazz trade. Will the #14 Pacers be able to get on a hot streak and capitalize on a blue heavy starting roster centered around a young rising star in Herb. Will the #19 Nets trade away their scoring monster to rebuild around their young team? Then there are the #12 Grizzlies. The team that has a 6'10" Shooting Guard that is averaging 26.2 points, among a very tall roster after his RFA shopping spree.

Not only for the sake of this, but for the sake of getting people to know that there's new ownership on some teams, Mavs are now LazyTitanSmash and Trailblazers are now grovestreetj

Clerical errors on my part that I keep intending to update. Simply a copy and paste that was overlooked. Updated for next sim!

My apologies to both LTS and Grove

Welcome back everyone to another sim power rankings. A quick few notes.

#1 Pels have moved back into a solid first place ranking over the other competition.

#3 Wizards make the biggest point jump with a 2.43 point jump this sim and solidifiying their place as a higher end team.

#5 Bucks slime their way down the rankings. hahahahahah

#6 Lakers move up 3 slots after their trade. Is this a trend of them moving up maybe into a top 3-4 overall team with their most recent move?

#8 Grizz move up more slots to make their claim of another playoff position after tax hell

Are the #16 Nets finally looking to make a jump up the rankings after this sim? Maybe the tweaks they may have made finally worked out for this team that have been underperforming.

Lol the #9 Spurs are still in the top 10.

Charles Hints is back to day to day which is exactly what the #21 Rockets need.
