Also, I may take the nodes offline for maintenance tomorrow night for about an hour. I've heard complaints of some bluescreens lately so I'm going to give the physical box that runs them a reboot - it hasn't had one for a couple of months so it's time.

I am not giving out points for media this offseason thus far pending the results of the media point coordinator election. That way the new coordinator has a clean slate of media articles for the new season to track.
Feel free to PM me if you NEED the points in the next 48 hours prior to the elections wrapping up.

If a rookie contract guy redshirts a year (gets stashed in Europe) are they going to get a cheaper deal in RFA because they have fewer than 4 years of experience?

No. The maximum dollar value is as follows:
0-6 years of experience: 25% of cap (or 105% of last contract year, whichever is HIGHER)
7-9 years of experience: 30% of cap (or 105% of last contract year, whichever is HIGHER)
10+ years of experience: 35% of cap (or 105% of last contract year, whichever is HIGHER)
So it doesn't really help in RFA.
If you sit him for 2 or 3 years, it WILL lower the value of his SECOND max (e.g., sit him for 2 years, he plays 2 years and gets signed to a 4-year deal in RFA. When he comes off that second deal, he only has 6 years of experience and is only eligible for 25% of the cap instead of 30%).

So, I have a couple of things to announce.
1 - A nifty new link now shows up on the left side of the league index page at
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/ - you'll note a link to "Last Sim Highlights." This little lovely will take you to a page that shows you the Top Ten performances in scoring, rebounds, etc. as well as any triple doubles in the last 15 simmed days (not always technically the "last sim" since some sims are 16 days and some are 14 days... but close enough - you want it better, you write the scripts). This shows you who kicked butt around the league this past sim.
2 - Each of you has individual pages to see who kicked butt for and against your team last sim. No links yet (trying to figure out where would be a good place to put them) but they're located at
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/highlights/lastsimXX.htm (for your team) and
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/highlights/oppsimXX.htm - note that you have to replace the XX in these links with the FBB ID of your team for this to work. You can find this on the main page by hovering over your team name in the standings... for instance, the Mavericks page points to
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/rosters/roster10.htm so their ID is 10. To get to the pages above they would go to
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/highlights/lastsim10.htm and
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/highlights/oppsim10.htm - note also some teams have single-digit IDs (like the Hawks), in this case just put in the single digit.
If you have a good idea where to put the links for #2 I'm all ears.
These pages are scripted to be built automatically after each sim. Note that if your team hasn't played in the last 15 sim-calendar days (e.g., you missed the playoffs and we're in the midst of the Conference Finals) your page will not be updated (and in fact will probably have just the last day or two of the regular season on it).
Hopefully this lets you get to know your team a little better - and your opponents a little better as well.
Thank you for reading.

Also of note... while I was working on adapting the scripts I used to parse all the games in the past, I noticed a small error on my part caused the final preseason game of each season to be classed as regular season... and the final regular season game of each season to be classed as a playoff game. This has been corrected.
This also means, though, that the career totals lists on
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/lists.php should be up-to-date after each sim... no more "as of the end of the previous season."

Doesn't matter to me where it is, but whatever is the least pain in the ass to do out of these possibilities:
1. Create a landing page with links to each team's last 10 and opponent's 10
2. Add the links as extra columns to the standings.htm page
3. Add a new section to house each team's links either before or after the Season Schedule on the team's page.

One more update - PFL ratings on
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/lists.php are up-to-date as well (so you should see the post-training values). Note that rookies' PF values on the page were not updated until now and any values that were there prior to this update were values from whatever player USED to inhabit their player ID. For instance, the Hawks' lone rookie Merle Weisman has ID 324
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/players/player342.htm and that ID used to belong to Jason Maxiell - see
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/2016/players/player342.htm - so whatever Merle's foul rating was listed as before this update would actually have been Maxiell's rating.
As I've mentioned before, updating PFL ratings requires me to manually export a text file from FBB, throw it into a spreadsheet, and then extract the PFL column so I only do it once per season... I do it after TC (which does move them a little) and paid/rookie trainings (note I usually do not modify for All Star Break trainings). In the database the ratings are tied to player ID as determined by FBB and FBB re-uses IDs.
