S59 Cavs Preseason Presser

Welcome to the Cavs Preseason Presser. We are pleased to welcome our MVP jlmarines.

GM jlmarines: This past season we send a clear message to Maravich Division the Cavs are here to stay. The days are gone when teams assumed it was going to be an easy win against Cavs. Our rivals Kings/76ers/Thunder learned the hard way. Last season we averaged 116 pts per game. We wanted to continue our scoring momentum. We immediately re-sign PG Dangerfield and PF Mills. There's no question age is not a factor for Dangerfield, Dangerfield made a statement last season by showing everyone he has gas left in the tank.

GM jlmarines: Speaking of statement. Michael Sneed continues to show the league why it was a mistake to overlooked him. We are excited to sign workhorse PG De La Rosa. De La Rosa is coachable. De La Rosa knows Cavs team strategies to use at a given time. De La Rosa knows his role on the team, whether he is expected to score or pass the ball. De La Rosa and Sneed will be a scary combo to beat.

Since taking over the Cavs, we signed the best PG depth in the last 10 seasons. We have three PGs in our current roster that could start for many teams. Our PG De La Rosa, Dangerfield, and McCafferty will be our key to success. Our depth is so loaded with solid green players, each of our bench players brings a specific attribute skill set on the defensive and offensive side. We signed solid studs C/PF Rene Pfaff, C Levi Mata, and SG Kim Lewis. There's no question we are a deep 12 team roster. I have confidence with our new addition players we will return to the playoffs and win games in the playoffs. The Cavs are the real deal and we expect to embarrass our rivalry opponents, staring with the 76ers.

GM jlmarines: Overall, if you look at our entire roster, Cavs have a solid 12 man rotation. We expect to make it to the playoffs.

GM jlmarines: Here's our starting lineup for the current moment:

C Mason Dixon
PF Michael Sneed
SF Cam Ron Fletcher
SG Jere Bailey
PG Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: The Cavs look like a playoff team this season, but I don't think they're on any radards for being a championship team. What are the top 3 aspects of the game that the Cavs need to improve to get there?

Historically, Sneed has played SF or SG, but you plan to start him at PF. Why the change? U mad at Caleb Mills, bro?
Somehow I manage.

First, I would be remiss if I did not extend my heartiest congratulations on last season's success as you finished not only with a career-best 49-33 record you managed to defy all odds and eliminate the Killian Hayes-less Sacramento Kings in ONLY 6 games in Round 1. Bravo GM jlmarines.

Do you have any fear Philadelphia gifted you a Trojan Horse with PG De La Rosa or do you think you just exploited a far superior GM's shitty tax situation with no concern as to how it would affect your so-called friendship with said GM and your other so-called friends in Suckramento and Ocean City?

And if you had to compare last season's Cavs team to an era of FSU football what would it be? And is this season going to be even better?

Of the newcomers on your roster, which has to step up the most to allow you to take another step forward as an organization?

Thank you for the question. I need a big man. Dixon can't do it alone. I would like to upgrade my PF position. 2nd, I would like to upgrade my SG depth. I have solid depth at the position but I'm still missing my SG star. 3rd, as a team my defense needs to improve. I would like my guards to have a better defense attributes. I will try to upgrade my defense attributes.

Not at all. I like Mills. Not sure if I will move Sneed to PF. Just depends how good/bad I do on the first few sims. Just hate having SF Fletcher on the bench. I think he's too good to be in the bench. We will see, but Mills will play a lot regardless. Thank you for the question.

There's no crying in SIM. The term "friends" in SIM does not exist. It's survival of the fittest in SIM world. When a GM is down, you take advantage and crush his soul. There's a reason why people know me as "Ruthless Aggression". It's freaking scary times for 76ers and Suckramento.

If I have to compare to FSU football, probably Jimbo Fisher first season. Things will get better. Thanks for your multiple questions.

Great question. My PG De La Rosa. I do plan to train him. I expect a great season for De La Rosa. I'm taking a gamble on him. Hoping for the best.

Lets see If I understand your question. I predict I'll win my first Championship, when I sign purple players. I'm sure the commissioner knows this, I actually do try to spend and try hard to get elite players to the Cavs. Unfortunately, they don't pick the Cavs during UFA. Thanks for the question.

Are you in essence saying there's no path to a ring ever in Cleveland besides signing a purple player in free agency ?

It's possible to win with a platoon of blue players. I'm the newer GM. Since I took over the Cavs a notice a common trend with teams that wins a Championship. Most of the winners have 1 purple player. Or a ton of blue players. Will see. The Cavs will always try to sign the best players possible. But, I do try to avoid tax penalty. Thanks for the question.

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: With so much love going to De La Rosa in your presser specifically, do you plan to bring him back next season at any cost needed? I would guess his max would be somewhere in the range of $53 million next season.

Are the Cavs for real or are they going to choke in the playoffs again this season?

Depends how he plays this season. If he plays well. Yes I will consider a huge raise.
Thanks for the question.

That's the goal, win games. We will see. We will continue to evaluate our roster as the season continues. Thanks for the question.
