Knicks Preseason Presser

Post by drkavarga »

It's time once again for another season of Knicks basketball. The playoff drought is over and we're back to do it again. We've got a lot of the same roster back and our two rookies look outstanding. Shaw and Hodgkins both will be getting plenty of playing time. Bringing back Colton was big for us too. I like him in the rotation. Johnson starting at PG will be interesting. We did well after he took over before the playoff choke. I'm pissed about that shit and I'm out for blood this season. There will not be a repeat of that. I expect us to be a playoff team and this time win a series. That's all I've got to say other than it's nice to not have a zombie at PG this season.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: You released Terry Sterner and Benton Stack, which leaves the Knicks with over 25 million dollars in dead cap space this season and next. Why cut them outright instead of trying to use their salaries in a trade to either get a player who's a better fit, or to dump their salaries so you could use that cap space in free agency?

Besides the Spurs, who again seem to be the class of your division and perhaps the conference, which teams do you look to be your biggest challengers to your place in the upcoming playoff race?

Do you attribute your playoff loss solely to Johnson choking, or were other factors in play?
Somehow I manage.

Because no one in their right mind would do that trade. The last time I put up a trade block post about players like people made jokes instead of offers so not doing that again.

Yeah, the other factors were we played like trash and a lot of it was just bad overall play. Before that we were rolling. That was our first 3 game losing streak since right after the all star break which was the wrong time to have it.
