S 56 Power Poll

I know you have always thought "what do other GMs think of my team". Have you also gotten annoyed when seeing computer power rankings putting you way lower than expected? Well this is your opportunity to let your own voice be heard. This is the inaugural PBSL AP Power Poll. Click the link below to the google forms doc, rank the league from 1-27 and then click submit. If it works right, which I have believe in this about 40% that it will work) then I will post the results after each poll is closed. I have the first poll set to close on Monday at the next sim.

Drop downs would definitely be easier. I kept losing track after the top 10 or so and just marked whatever.

Why must people be the way they are with responses...

I couldn't keep track of who I had ranked, and then at the end I couldn't figure out what team i hadn't ranked which prevented me from submitting, so i ranked every team '1 and...' whatever I had tried to rank them already. but then I realized I hadn't ranked a good team and there was no easy way to bump the lower ranked teams back one. same issue with the dropdown: if i want to switch around rankings, there's no easy way to reference who I had ranked what number without scrolling up and down a bunch.

All that to say, I raise my hand as the guy who is the way he is with responses lol. I feel like some kind of drag and drop interface would be perfect for this, but it doesn't seem like google forms supports that...

In news that should be surprising to no one, the Hawks were voted in last place, with the blazers and Jazz coming in right above Atlanta. The most surprising part of this is the 76ers clocking in above six other teams with a three wins. I believe part of this is due to a certain GM (you and I know who you are) voting the 76ers 1 because of them being the first team. Also I feel it’s out of character to see the Pacers this low in the rankings.

The fact the cavs managed to beat out the 76ers by one spot is just poetry to me. It’s truly amazing. A few of our newer GMs also show up in the portion, the Heat and Pels, who have both done well so far in their first season in charge of their clubs. The Pels constructed a great team, and are managing to stay in the mix even with a slew of injuries. The kings are lower than I would have hoped for them, given their dynamic duo, but that’s what happens when you “bark” up the vet min tree due to taxes. The rockets are also way lower than I thought, with some of the good signings I saw in the off season. Also, the Delmar, AB, Nix combo is going way better than I think anyone predicted, with the Thunder coming in at 11.

So here are our top 10, as voted by you, the GMs.

Raise your hands if you are surprised to see the bulls at the top… Damnit Gary, raise your hand. Anyways, the biggest surprise this season has to be the Knicks at 9 and the way they have been playing. Maybe their strategy will finally pay off, or maybe their idea of player hoarding is what gave him the inflated team ranking (since he does not abide to those rules, or trade to other teams). Clippers are continuing their surge. The Nuggets, Pistons, Bucks, and magic have returned to their place at the top tier teams as well, all being ranked in the top 10. It’s honestly like we went into a time machine with the top 5 GMs all champions, and have been around for longer than most.
