BUCKS DONE BLOWN IT UP AGAIN (S55 - 2044-45 Presser)

Post by IamQuailman »

Lol, it's almost a joke at this point how quickly we toggle back and forth between going ALL IN and then back that azz up out of the tax. This offseason, we did it all over again after a complete turd of a season last year. We went all in on Tex Harrison & Mitch Robinson, who were great players in their own way, but injuries really de-railed the team from establishing some good cohesion ahead of the playoffs. In the end, we got bounced in the first round. We weren't even all that great of a team defensively, which is where we usually look to hang our hats. So this off-season instead of running it back with a massive tax bill, we decided to take a step out of the ring and make some moves to get younger.

The biggest move we made was moving on from Mitch Robinson (and Mark Adkison) to bring in Jericho Sims and Anthony Blakeney. We are thrilled to have gotten two potential cornerstone pieces in 1 trade without having to go through a grueling tankathon and praying for lotto luck. We then moved on from Tex Harrison and brought in Charles Hintz, a guy we've coveted for seasons since he was on the Cavaliers (until the Thunder GM raw-dogged the Cavs GM even though they are "friends"). Last trade made was moving on from Daishen Nix, who we liked alot... just not at his salary. We were fortunate to find a GREAT TRADE BUDDY in the Clippers GM, and finally got a deal done without either of us leaving the other hanging on the edge of our seats waiting for a reply.

In UFA, we mainly focused on bringing back some role players and bench depth to fill out the squad. Caesar Moreno can be a capable spot starter and bench wing for us, as well as Moran and Tucker. All three play some semblance of defense and have an area of their offensive game that compliments the others. Johnny Dillard is back to reclaim his MIP throne and get back on track towards being one of the most efficient bigs in the league.

Outlook-wise, we really dont know what to expect with this season. There will be some growing pains, as both Jericho and Anthony are still developing into their own. However we will look to young veterans like Patrick Williams and Charles Hintz to be leaders in the locker room and maybe get us some Ws along the way.

Questions?

Charles Hintz at 6-8 averaged 7 assists in the preseason. With his 87 in Quickness do you see him as your starting PG this season or will you go with Tucker to start the year. Or do you think it's just preseason and Hintz would not average 7 dimes per game this season

What gets you the most excited when managing a team ? Winning ? Draft? Trading ? Something else ?

That's the plan... to take these Presser Points and shove em right up Hintz's ass and make him a more capable passer!

The thrill of tearing down a roster and building it back up is always fun for me. I like winning too, but honestly, there's more exhilaration in putting together the pieces and making something work and then taking it apart and putting it back together again.

I take it Blakeney will not get the red shirt treatment this season?

Also, we seem to be frequent trading partners. Do you think getting along with GMs makes it easier to trade or is that coincidental?

Have the Chicago Bulls taken your title of biggest trader in the league? Do you plan on doing more trades than them this season or are you content with them out trading the King of Trades?

Real question, though...Harrison and Robinson were two stellar players, but you couldn't get traction with them. If you could have any three players with them in a starting lineup--without going over the cap--who would you pick?

That's a really great question. Both are on super deals, so I'd need to find some deep discounts on other players... Tabling this answer, because I need to actually research who :D

Blakeney will probably get some run this season, although maybe we'll get a last second urge to bench him and try to cash in on ROY next year!

As for trading partners, being cool cats and kittens always goes a long way.

Always looking to trade. Josh took the Slime King crown, only because he's also really good at Fall Guys
