Good Morning everyone, I’d like to play a few slides for you before we get started today
Slide 1: 2007-2008 NBA Boston Celtics
Slide 2: 2011-2012 Philadelphia Eagles
Slide 3: 2012-2014 NBA Los Angeles Lakers
Slide 4: 2012-2013 NBA Miami Heat
Slide 5: 2020-2021 NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Slide 6: 2021-2022 NFL Los Angeles Rams
Ok, so we are like all of the above mentioned teams in that we had luck go our way in some singings and deals, and have a team that is built to win now. My hope is that we are not like some of the just seen teams where the players never meshed and did not reach a championship win.
Last season was a success in my eyes. While we have two top end players in Wade and Maker, and added Sterner in a deal, we were built very solid but knew that there were other teams out there that had more power. Our team brought a similar approach to last year that we have adapted in the Wade era, a defense that will keep us in any game. Sure enough, we gave the 76ers a 7 game series in the conference finals.
Coming into the offseason, I knew that I could bring back virtually the whole team last year. I wanted to upgrade my roster and knew I had plenty of choices. First attempt was Dan Yan, each next to Wade would be insane. After realizing that the Spurs were courting other offers that appeared to be front runners, I decided to look at the market again. Quick talks with the Timberwolves and an impromptu talks with the Bucks lead to Hintz and Sterner turning into Delmar and Tex. I am very excited about both players. Delmar is still purple, maybe the oldest one ever, and will be sliding to PF. This will allow Maker to play center, where the last time he played there he got all league honors. Tex is a guy I’ve been chasing for years. I’ve thought about trying to make a back court of those two since his RFA days. Then we were fortunate enough to sign Pearman who will be a great addition at SF and hopefully be our glue guy.
I think the only problem we might run into is wing and guard depth. I tried to sign a few players that will hopefully work out well. Other than that, I think our team will still be a defensive force and hopefully have an even stronger offensive presence this season. Now let’s go win one boys.
Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Your starters are your obvious best 5 guys, but as you mention, guard depth kind of slims out after that. What's your second unit going to look like, and what role will each of those reserves play for your team?

I’m hoping that either Hasty produces or waters/ Sanchez have enough left in the tank to produced in a limited roll. I was hoping one of them wouldn’t die in TC. If not, I’m not afraid to throw points at the problem on the market.
Random Reporter: Was the decision to go all in and bring in big-time players like Pearman, Lopez, and Harrison brought about by seeing another new GM claim their first title?

Probably. It depends on how on the pulse I am through the season. If I can find a deal for a backup I’d love it l, but I might not make a move unless their is an injury too.

It was brought on by the fact that they are my reference and got it before me.
As another vet GM chasing gold, I like the moves you made and have a really good shot at getting there. Not to lay a curse on you (because I honestly want you to win and think you have all the pieces and more), but do you realize the last time Pearman and Delmar shared the 3 and 4 spots they played for the LA Lakers and petered out to you in the Conference finals in 6?
Also, it looks like your guard depth struck out in TC, but do you see Hasty's potential and speed as an option, or Odell's lost color nothing but lost color?
Justin Bieber, Teremana.com; Congrats on your great off season addition. What's your prediction for the Thunder this year? Is this the year Thunder will win the Championship?

You lost a tight series to the 76ers after getting swept the year before by the same team. What did you learn going up against them that you will use this year in the playoffs?

1. They didn’t have Wade and Maker on their team as other players. Pearman is my 4th best player at best, and might wind up as a 6th man extraordinaire compared to the crucia wing player of the Lakers team.
2. Odell almost started over Sterner last season and has been a mainstay with Wade in our guard play for a few seasons. The only reason he won’t be associated in the equation is if he is traded for a clear upgrade.

That paying for premium players is a true difference Maker.
