I'm going to put K100 here because I've not seen anyone so recklessly throw caution to the wind before, especially someone who I assume isn't planning on quitting immediately ha. Can't even say I like all the deals made, because some were redundant as hell, but shit, it's a silly game made to have dumb fun with, so, why not go crazy if that's what's most entertaining to you.
Dunno that such a thing would be possible - perhaps they're separate nominations altogether - but I would like to nominate digiskunk for the first several sims of the season and NickMalone77 for the latter few sims up to the trade deadline.
It's always nice to see an old GM return, and digiskunk came running out of the gate, tax situation notwithstanding. Energy like this is always what the league craves, and he delivered - media, player profile, wild presser, updating the ol' trade block and successfully completing a trade... it was a good time for sure, but he fell off a bit, submitting DC's sometimes and otherwise going radio silent since the Alleman profile.
Enter NickMalone, one who pledged to retire but a man kind enough to not only help this guy acquire Connell, but also then traded with the Wizards, Bucks, Spurs AND 76ers helping teams all around the league. Peaking at their roster today is not to see much at all, but especially when compared to the Jazz, Hawks or Raptors, this team is far from failing, collecting 28 wins almost effortlessly, getting his guy a Rookie of the Year award, too.
Since neither really was active the full season, that's why I am attempting the split nomination. digiskunk embodied the optimal return (hope he stays!), and Nick modeled an ideal exit. Kudos to both.
He's a relatively new GM here, but he's taken a team that was long neglected and put it back on the right track. He made some solid offseason trades to stack his roster, and got his resigns back at the right price...also adding Jame Hector in with his MLE.
The Suns have a GREAT cohesion/GREAT talent team now that's making noise, and it's great to see.
-he reset his tax
-started his rebuild with an impressive young core with by signing THT, Bailey, and Galloway and acquiring Leathers and Melo
-backdoored his way into the playoffs when the draft file looks like crap
It's impressive seeing the Wizards deep playoff run without a purple player and getting the most of his players on his team.
It sends the message to young GMs, you don't need to spend $394,308,527, to succeed in this league. There's no question Wizards front office conducted comprehensive analysis on players attributes, foul ratings, relationship status, and executed an effective strategic operation. Look forward seeing the Wizards destroy their next opponent in the playoffs.
