Bucks 42-43 Presser

Post by IamQuailman »

Welcome back everyone! Last year, we SUCKED! Blew our stuff up and went into full on asset acquisition mode, and honestly, I'm not going to lie... I enjoy that part of being a GM more than anything else. We cashed in on Dangerfield and brought in Kuric and a buncha crap, swapped Wolfgang for Manley + MIP Johnny Dillard + what-would-become #1 overall pick, and Burnham for a useless pick that I ended up paying 3pts to draft a soon-to-be-dead guy in TC.

Last season was forgettable, but this offseason was not. We cashed in a couple chips to get a prime Tex Harrison from the magic (bye bye Manley and pick #7), drafted Darius Garland #1 overall, retained Patrick Williams in RFA, and then cashed in the crap from the Dangerfield deal with Garland to bring in the BEST center in the league, Mitch Robinson. However, after striking out a little more, we moved a guy we had hoped would be a part of the team for a long time, Gerry Folse. An incredible offer presented itself to us, giving us some depth we sorely needed, while also bringing in a couple young-ish studs in Arden Silva & Daishen Nix. Silva has been a player we have long coveted since he briefly played for us in 2038-39 season. Nix is an athletic wing with active hands. Both are expected to come in and start for us.

With the team mostly set, we are ready to go into this season with hopes of a playoff berth and a deep run, if not a championship. When we go all in like this, it's because we feel the team is ready to roll. Otherwise, we'll just blow this shit up again. Let's go, dammit!!!

Questions?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: With the tried and true Spurs returning to defend their crown, and the Suns bulking up nicely this offseason, do you think your division will be the most competitive? And is your team ready to take on teams of those caliber or are there still moves to be made?

This is definitely a top heavy division, and always full of teams trying to compete (except for the Hawks and Rockets). It will be interesting to see how this plays out, but I fully expect the spurs to secure the 1 seed and top record in the division... the industry standard, Eazy and the Spurs are! I think matchup-wise, we could give them a run for their money though, in a 7-game series.

Let’s say this isn’t quite the team that goes all the way. Do you blow it up next year or wait a bit? Also, with the Suns emerging, how do you match up with them in your opinion?

Suns are putting together a nice squad, but we like our chances head to head.

I don't know what im doing next week, let alone next year. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I'll definitely be tax-cognizant as always.
