Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Have you devised a strategy to get out of tax jail or at least how to play the game within tax jail for the next few seasons?

You have the biggest bill I've ever seen coming up here. Are you taking it to the finish line? Might you sell off some pieces to lower the bill?

Did Wiseman's losing his purple hurt your feelings? Explain.
Somehow I manage.

Justin Bieber, teremana.com; What's your prediction for this year? Any player on the hot seat?

Not yet, curious to see what the actual damage will be once the tax table is updated before I start mapping out a strategy. But a basic outline would be to start selling these contracts to anyone with cap space next offseason and go from there. A few seasons down the road when this team is just vet mins and salary dumps, I'd like to see if I can cobble together a competitive season and try to make the playoffs. In the meantime, I figure draft days will be the busiest time of the year for me to churn up some points too, especially once I hit lottery status. Overall, my goal is to be within striking distance of paying this tax bill off by the time we re-org the league for season 60.

It is something, isn't it? The plan is to finish the season with a tax bill. How much is TBD. I think it is safe to say this 15 man roster will not be the final product. However, I'd imagine it would have to go terrible awry during the season for me to hit the eject button and sell-off before the playoffs.

And yeah, I am disappointed Wiseman could not stay purple one more season. It was not a surprise per se, since I saw him get demoted in both mock TCs I ran, but it still sucked to hear it on the podcast and see the index update on Friday morning. He is still a force, albeit just a little bit older and slower. It is what it is.

Championship AND Bust

Good question. I'm expecting William Pearman to step up this season after taking a bit of a dip last year. I'm also banking on former Cav, Jeffrey Lemon to contribute to this season's success in some fashion.

You mentioned in an earlier response "when the tax table gets updated" ...

You sure you're actually prepared for that amount of pain?

Can you promise the loyal Sixers fans and the other 25 GMs of the league that you will be here to see the team out of the inevitable tax jail?

Is there a reason you chose to write a poem instead of a Haiku as your presser? How else are the 76ers planning to be creative this season?

Good question. Haikus are hard. Poems are too, but bad poetry is not. This season is just different so I had to kick it off with something cringe and weird.

In terms of being more creative this season, I have already broken the tax table so now I would like to start exploring tax relief initiatives and brainstorm some ideas for the league to consider immediately.
