Hey all,

I think while most thought I was going to compete in some way last year, I think my plan all along was to build through the draft. So I decided to trade away any and all assets I could for points and young players and picks. I got a pretty good haul with points and Oturu. The ultimate win came through in the offseason however. ZAIRE WADE. Now moving into this season, I got Boban (at a very expensive get) and West in the offseason. TC went alright. Wade went green in a surprising move, Oturu and Bulter got better, and Boban and West stayed decent players. The hardest hit was Zargas, who just further dives into terrible luck and a worse player. Oh well, if him getting hurt protects my other players then so be it.

I’m going to probably approach this season much like the previous season. Where it will be a rebuild season where I try to trade anyone of real value.

My starting five will be recommended since I still can’t access my node and I’m rebuilding but I think the starters will be Horsley, Wade, West, Boban, Bulter

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: If Boban and West have enough gas left in the tank to start the team off hot, how likely are you to try to add talent this year at the expense of the future?

I think I’ll be more tempted to trade them than keep them. Especially if they play well. But if it’s a situation where I can get people added to get into the playoffs without selling anything major, I might take that approach as well.

Will Zaire Wade be keyed up in a bid to win Rookie of the Year or will you be leaning on the veterans to carry the offense?

I think he will go as far as he wants to take himself. If he plays well, I will let him up. But it will all be based of recommend initially.

I do think he will be a contender for ROY though, given his already green currents and decent offensive skills.

Probably. I really like Bulter, but he is just a little too old I think for this current rebuild timeline. However, if Bulter, Oturu, and Wade ball out I could see myself trying sooner.

In short, like you and Horns mentioned on the podcast, you either get the guy who is a lights out scorer, or a very good all around player, who can hopefully develop what he lacks in offense. I chose Wade because I felt he had the higher potentials, while also becoming a better player from day one. It was a very hard choice, but I felt that Wade will be a better all around player that I can move around and build around for the next eight plus years, where I was afraid that Whitley would be a lightning scorer, who will not produce at the same all around level as Wade.
