I'd like to think I'm pretty good at self-forecasting, but hot damn, I was quite a bit off last season. Between Bronny missing some games due to injury and a lack of scoring firepower, we were generally crap team. We limped our way to a whopping 26 wins. Heading into the lotto, we knew our pick wound up in Miami after a league wide game of hot potato. But with the fifth worst record, we didn't think much of it.
It was a gut punch seeing that pick jump to first, but what's done was done. We quickly moved onto UFA- we had enough space for two maxes if the order of signings game landed in our favor. Unfortunately, that didn't work out as Fox chose to sign with the Pacers. We still managed bring back Bronny and Pallies on reasonable contracts. We've paired these two with some scoring punch in Josh Hart and some nice supporting bench pieces. Elisha Davis and Rod Pastor look to have bright futures after some internal training.
So what does that mean for this season? After last season's forecasting wizardy, I have no clue. The in game power poll has us in the mix for a playoff spot, but I could easily see this team being as crap as last season. We'll have to re-evaluate come day 60 and go from there. Moves to push this team in one direction or another are very likely.
