Join JNR and garbageman for another installment of Horns and Fangs to kick off the 2032-2033 season. We'll talk about contraction, the very active off-season, and answer all of your questions (PBSL and non-PBSL alike), so post your questions below!
1. What kind of off-season do you enjoy most/feel is better for the league: One like this one with so much trade movement and change-over or a more reserved one with teams trying to get better in a more organic way (free agency, draft)?
2. If you had to do it all again would you stick with a contraction draft or change it to placing the players into free agency ?
3. Josh is from Chicago where the NBA All-star game was played this year. Did either of you watch the game? If so, any thoughts about the format? Or did Josh notice any extra excitement around the city?
4. Favorite and Least favorite transactions of the off-season.
5. I'm always looking for new places to visit, so where are some of your favorite vacation destinations? I'm looking to plan a 2nd big trip this summer.
One of the 5 on 5 questions was what out-of-the-box ideas do you have to improve the league. Do you guys have any you'd like to discuss for the league to chew on?
This might be skewed more for Raby since he's been here since the beginning, but Josh was around for some of these guys tail-end careers. X1st did a piece on remembering the Celtics franchise which was recently contracted. The other three were the Warriors, Grizzlies, and Bobcats. All four of those teams you associate with just 1 GM each: Conroy and Celtics; bow and Warriors; LoCo and Grizz; Darth and Bobcats. What are some of your favorite memories of each franchise and GM?
-Do y'all feel like contraction has had an immediate impact on the level of talent spread throughout the league? What sort of impact do y'all expect it to have going forward?
-Since you've already posted an article with some tips, what tips does JNR have for running a successful sim franchise?
-In general, what do y'all think about the importance of Sim 1 and what you should take from it?
-Over time, the heavy majority of trade activity has shifted not only from the Trade Deadline to Day 60, but from the regular season to the offseason. What are your thoughts on this, and do y'all see it changing anytime soon?
-What's your favorite alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink?
