Have an idea for the league? Want to see a new rule put in or an old one abolished? Start a discussion here during the off-season or during the regular season!
It's very likely that next season, we will contract the league to only have as many teams as active GMs.
Questions on how to do this:
1. What to do with the players on contracted teams' rosters?
2. How to restructure the playoffs? (with, say, 24 teams, do we only have 6 teams make the playoffs, or keep it at 8 so more people can participate)?
There are probably a ton of issues that I haven't thought of (or that will come up), but I just want to get the discussion started.
Contraction draft sounds good. How many rounds and what do you do with players left undrafted would be something to consider. Make sure no one is trying to sign guys on vet mins unless you’re okay with that.

One more note on a draft- teams could also “pass” and not select anyone
Would we let a team over cap add salary through a draft?
Good point. I’m all for giving more rope (or would it be less ripe?)on the noose that is tax hell to someone, but dissenting opinions or other ideas welcome.
I like the draft idea, but with the caveat that you're on the hook for their deal. Making them all free agents is the easiest solution, but it gives the middle finger to teams over the cap. This way, capped-out teams still can participate, but they need to be smart about it.
Another interesting idea would be to give active GMs a choice of sticking with their current team or switching to one of the soon-to-be contracted teams.
