Bucks Presser

Post by IamQuailman »

After one of the best seasons in franchise history, we had yet again another deflating post-season early exit due to injury. History likes to repeat itself like that. C'est la vie. So the off-season came, and we decided that with Lavar maxed, Small maxed, Pulley maxed, and Booker undoubtedly about to be maxed... something had to change. And it did. Our initial priority was to move Ball. Ball went out West to the Suns. We entertained the idea of resetting around Pulley, Small, and Booker for a brief moment until we got an offer we couldn't refuse for Small via UFA S&T. Once that was essentially locked in, the idea of moving on from Pulley and Booker got a lot easier, especially with Booker signing with the Heat, who had some nice pieces to send back as compensation. The market for star players was pretty barren this offseason, and Pulley ended up going to the Kings for a favorable (to the Kings) package.

In the end, we got back some foundational pieces in Paugh and Barrett (and not-so-foundational Farmer), both of which saw some love in TC. In addition, we retained Vaughn Vaccaro, and brought in a lot of young bigs to compete or be shipped out for assets in the future. We have a young team with plenty of room to grow. Not to mention we have like 7 draft picks in the upcoming draft.

There is no intention to compete this year, but would be nice to see what our players do well so we can better equip ourselves for the future.

Not sure, honestly. At least a few seasons before we are even in the discussion for a playoff spot.

A Sacramento reporter asked us a question that I think was meant for you...why now for the rebuild?

Payroll was too high and couldn't keep the team together without getting stuck with 2 3rd contract supermaxes and 2 rfa maxes. Sure we probably could've kept a couple and tried to stay relevant, but honestly, we were bored.

If you had to pick one, what is the most important single attribute or skill of any lone player on your team?
I still got all my fingers but somewhere I lost my mind.

With 10 first rounders in the next three years, when can we expect the reappearance of DEALIN DOUG to make a high impact move?

It's possible. That was the point of getting all the picks... to have enough assets to make a big move when the time comes.

Marcus Smart is a defensive stud, the epitome of 3&D. He's a great fit on pretty much any team, as his perimeter quickness & ninja like hands help disrupt opposing teams offensive sets. He's also available for trade after Dec 15

Is Marcus Smart the only player on your roster available for trade after December 15 or are there also others that you’re considering moving?
