Delusions are exactly right. Lightning struck multiple times in the playoffs. We won multiple tough games including game sevens both in the Eastern Conference Finals and in the Finals. Not my fault these bums can’t get their teams to play well.NOLa. wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 2:29 pm A lot of your Eastern rivals have claimed your run last season was just luck and lightning can't strike twice. How would you respond to these delusions?
I would but it also would depend on what we get in return. We’ve got our championship and that’s what matters most.garbageman wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 2:33 pm With Gary Harris and Chet Dooley getting noticeably older and potential tax bills looming over the next couple seasons, will you be looking to move them early while they still have some trade value in order to escape an avalanching tax jail now that you've got a championship under your belt?
Salty haters who are in denial of how good I did.false9 wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 2:38 pm Despite winning 60 games and a tough division last season, you only managed 22 points in the GM of the Year vote. What do you attribute that to?
Because I’m not a fan of jazz music.
Great question. It's simple, really. I look to sign players that fit our strategy and will mesh well with who we've got already. A lot of GMs are focused on purples and blues when they should focus on bringing in talent that both fits into their strategy as well as fits in well with who's on the roster already. For example if your team's strength is rebounding, sign guys who are high in rebounding. If it's 3 point shooting, the same thing. It's all about the talent you have and using them to their fullest potential. Being 12 deep is underrated in my opinion. A lot of teams focus on their starters and then get screwed because of injuries due to depth issues. Here in New York we have a deep roster to avoid that. If one of our guys gets hurt, next man up steps up to the plate and puts in the work. It's all about the team aspect because this is a team sport, not an individual sport. This is why we are succeeding and why I get all the hate. I'm one of the few GM's who's figured it out and even with the bad TC we're still going to be winning because of how the team has been built since The Stewards of Gondor took over and then I came in and took it the next level with the Doctor's Depth Strategy. It won us a championship and that should be enough to prove my point right there.Samsonian wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 4:54 pm How do you explain the remarkable "fit" of the players on the Knicks roster? Despite the haters and other great teams in the league, the Knicks seem to post W's every year.
I'll make it work. All we need is one more season with the high tax and then just do what I do. Make trades, bring in talent to fill out our depth chart, and then play everybody. I will have to trade one or two of our stars but if I get the right talent in here with the right priced contracts we'll still be rolling going forward.WigNosy wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 4:53 pm How do you intend to keep this team rolling when faced with the luxury tax?
A lot of GM’s don’t know about winning. Being salty and making memes yes but winning no. Just pointing out the obvious per usual.JNR wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 5:55 am GWR: *Generic question about winning to show you I dont read these press conferences or pay attention to the rest of the league as a whole*
Have you realigned your season goal to "Road to Repeat over .500 record" or is that maybe out of reach?
Right now the only thing out of reach is your grasp of reality for asking such a ridiculous question. Here are the facts as they stand currently. We're over .500 currently, we are on pace to make the playoffs, and we're still playing hard every game. Our season goal is to repeat and that's what we're going to do.IamQuailman wrote: Fri Dec 14, 2018 10:16 pmHave you realigned your season goal to "Road to Repeat over .500 record" or is that maybe out of reach?
