Whelp, I'll throw my hat in the ring.
If I were to vote for a coach of the year (getting the most out of their team as constructed) it's a no-brainer that 78 gets the award.
If I were to vote for the TEAM of the year (best constructed, best performing) it's a no brainer that the GARBAGEMAN would get that award.
But, for the GM that GM'd his ass off, from a team that was pretty good, but handily outplayed in the WCF last year to a 61-win title contender. I think that's me.

Firstly, I pretty much struck out in the luck-of-the-draw that is UFA. So I swung a trade with the STEWARDS swapping McCormick, Bazemore, and a pick for the VERY versatile Giannis, who has enjoyed the best season of his young career. I took a HUGE risk by trading my leading scorer and rebounder Blake Griffin for defensive juggernaut DeAndre Jordan, and my team had never played better. Seeing what Chicago was doing in the East. I knew I needed a more special offensive weapon than I had. So I swung a trade giving up my starting point guard (and all-NBA defense PG) Chet Dooley, 5th/6th man Evan Turner, and underrated PF Chris Bosh, for the NBA MVP Kevin Durant.

Now, outside of depth, there isn't a glaring weakness on my team. I'm in the top 3 of Offensive and Defensive Efficiency, and I think I'm deserving of consideration for the 'GM' part of the GMOY award.
6 Rings. That's it. That's the tweet.

I'm going to nominate myself because WHY NOT.

Two seasons ago, I was 13‒69. Last season, I was 40‒42. This season? 53‒29 with a 4th-seed playoff berth, bitches.

Unlike many other teams, I didn't make any huge moves but instead focused on improving my starting 5, the players that I drafted. So I went out and signed Andre Drummond to compliment Gebhart, Kight, Neeley, and Shumpert.

Just look me up guys, I'm so worth the award, you should know this by now.

I'm going to nominate Garbageman. He's the obvious choice. I'm not going to slurp him, so if he wants to add to it, then he can, but i wanted him to be on the ballot.

Thanks, Scott. I guess the only thing I'd add is:
JNR wrote: Fri May 11, 2018 2:14 pm 6. Okay we've bounced around a bit so far, so let's bring it home with a set of generic questions. In order of importance from least to most: Who's your MVP? Who wins the East? Who wins the West? Who wins the title? Who wins GMOY?

The JNR: Why did I even ask this? So boring. Anyway: Anthony Davis. Bulls. Kings. Kings. Garbageman.

Bass O'Hard: MVP has to be AD. As mentioned above, 1-5 without the guy, top 2 record in the league with.
East: bulls
West: Nuggets
Title: Bulls
GMOY: garbageman

IamQuailman: I think Davis, despite the injury, will win MVP; he's far to good to not get it. No one else is even close. The East goes to the Bulls. They are having a fantastic year and have put together a stellar two-way squad. Going to be VERY hard to beat. The Nuggets will win the West (barring injury). This team is struggling now after the KD trade, but will be a beast once they figure it out. Matchup Nightmare for everyone. I will give the edge to the Bulls on this one, because WE THE EAST. GMOY once again has so many potential candidates: from NOLa to garbageman to syndicate to 78 to Inner (before injuries derailed the season). Even Scott and Suns who were competing for titles last year man significant changes and are still in contention. But I'm gonna go with the Garbageman.

Nick Malone: MVP in the East probably is AD even with the injury. West = Nuggets. East = Bulls. Title = Bulls. GMOY = Ryan.

Eazy P: My MVP is AD of course dude can do it all on both sides of the ball

I think the Bulls win the East. I like the makeup of that squad. It won't be easy but they will be representing the east in the finals.

The West representative before the all star IMO was the Kings but KD being traded to the Nuggets made them the favorites but Nuggets have been having bad playoff luck lately with injuries at the wrong time but if they are healthy and injury free they will win the West.

As of now at this point of the season I see The winner of the SLOE championship being the Chicago Bulls

My GMOY at this moment would have to be the Bulls GM garbageman that Otto Porter trade has made his team better and his team is unbeaten at home which is crazy this late in the season.

RPF: MVP - Anthony Davis, as mush as I don't want to say that but he's the leading scorer, 2nd in rebounds, FG % and blocks. He is even 20th in steals, yeah he is pretty good.
Eastern Conference Champ - Chicago Bulls are too good and too strong not to pick
Western Conference Champ - Sacramento Kings, that's right I picked the Kings
SLOE Champs - Chicago Bulls, like I said before they are just the complete package
GMOY - Garbageman should win this hands down

I don’t think 78 got an official nomination, so I’ll nominate him. 78 doesn’t build teams like everyone else by constant wheeling and dealing to assemble the prettiest colors on his team page, and instead will ride his core guys like Horford and Ty who I feel have been a Rocket since the beginning of the league.

The Rockets won their division and improved their wins total by just a few more than prior year, but they got hit by untimely injuries that saw their fast start slow down a bit. Even with the injuries, I believe the team never lost the lead in the Southwest throughout the season. 78 was able to pickup Isiah Thomas (1st team NBA) in UFA and also acquired Draymond to get that glue guy that does a bit of everything needed on a winning team. The team doesn’t turn the ball over and feels like that type of veteran style team that plays smart basketball.

The Rockets aren’t a sexy team that’s stacked, but made just the right amount of moves and stayed under the tax to field a competitive team that could go the distance in the playoffs. Consistency is a trait I like seeing in a GM and I think 78 has proven over his career he is a consistent winning GM and is reaping the rewards this season.

And the computer awarded him GMOY.
