It has been proposed that we adopt guidelines for renaming of players drafted in the lottery; per the original rename proposal (viewtopic.php?f=90&t=4881) , there has been discretion to disallow names (e.g., "you may not use any explicit names").
This proposition would codify the renaming process as follows:
1. You must request the name change when drafting the player (already our procedure).
2. You may not request a name change to any current or past PBSL player (already our procedure).
3. Requests to change a name to a real-life player who became draft-eligible after 2015 will be considered pre-approved (new).
4. Requests to change a name to a randomly-generated player who was in the pre-import draft list will be considered pre-approved (new).
5. The commissioner will have broad discretion to disallow names not in the pre-approved lists (see items 3 and 4).
