Sim Pick Em Week 1/2 Due by 4/6 5PM CT

It's back again! The Weekly Sim Pick Ems for the 2000-2001 season. For those unfamiliar with the concept, here are the guidelines...

Pick'em Panel Rules

1. All games will have a point spread, a point total amount of over/under, or just an instant Pick Em.

2. There is NO Wild-card (as that was a freebie anyway). And there will be 7 games per week.

3. At the end of the season, the winning division members will get to collect their +5 point winnings.

4. I will assign pickers. The division member selected will have up until 4PM CT of sim day to make his selection. If it runs past 4PM and the member that was selected still hasn't made his picks known, it will then be up for a free for all where any member who puts his picks in will be credited up to 5PM CT.

5. The maximum allowed entries a member of the division is permitted to submit their picks will be 4 Times per season. Each submission of picks will grant you +1 free point for your piggy bank which you must mark down in your team points thread.

6. Picks are due by 5pm on Sim Day. Late picks before sim will not be accepted.

Give me the proven home team over an enigma trying to refocus after a monumental trade.

11/2 - TWolves (+10.5) @ Warriors
The Warriors have been a major thorn in the T-Wolves' side for a while now. Even with Jackson now in tow, I don't see them beating their rivals at home.

11/4 - Hawks @ Jazz: Pick Em!

11/6 - Clippers @ Wizards: Total 183 Over/Under/Push
I'm hoping to score a lot this season, but my perimeter D is under construction. Oh look, that's where the Clippers are at their strongest. Seems like a perfect recipe for a high-scoring game.

11/8 - Lakers (-18.5) @ Pistons
Lakers win, but I don't think it'll be a total slaughter. Pistons keep it under 18, even if just barely.

11/11 - Bulls @ Spurs: Total 12 3 Pointers made combined Over/Under/Push
I'm actually gonna take the under on this one. The Bulls don't seem to be looking to use the 3-ball at this point, and I don't think that even the trigger-happy Spurs can make the bulk of the 3's needed to get the over.

11/12 - Wizards @ Hornets: Pick Em!
Hornets are the stronger team at this point, period.

10/31 - Mavericks (+7.5) @ Kings = Kings. Which major move will hurt more? The Mavs opted to get younger by dealing the reigning MVP for Andre Miller and Donyell Marshall while the Kings elected to have Augmon walk and trust the reigns of the franchise to TMac and Camby. Kings have been a dominant team at home the last few seasons. I think the Mavs can keep it close but I'd be shocked if by the end, the Kings aren't winners by double digits.

11/2 - TWolves (+10.5) @ Warriors = Warriors. It seemed like every free agent opted to sign in California this past offseason. The Twolves also dealt highly efficient Grant Hill to Atlanta for Maggette and winged prospect, Raja Bell. The Warriors spell over the Western Conference may have been lifted after getting bounced by the Kings but last I checked, Kemp was still dominant even against Webber. I don't think the Wolves will be as bad as some think and the addition of Jim Jackson should help but for now, I would be surprised if the Warriors didn't win and cover.

11/4 - Hawks @ Jazz: Pick Em! = Hawks. Duncan/OPenny. Man, this should be a fun battle to watch. the Hawks last year were marred by injury so what did the Cat do? Unhatched his devilish plan and somehow ended up with Hill and Penny. God help the rest of us in the Central division. There's no way the Hawks get bitten by the injury bug again for the second year in a row. I knew it would happen, I just didn't know when and I don't think the Hawks will have much a problem paying that luxury tax if it comes with a few rings.

11/6 - Clippers @ Wizards: Total 183 Over/Under/Push = Under. This line may not seem like a lot but the Wizards are trusting their team in the young hands of Lamar Odom and Rashard Lewis. They were able to compete for a playoff spot up until the last month or so of the season. The Clippers seem to be looking to deal anyone with talent as long as they can grab a pick or have even more salary to spend for the next few offseasons. I think both teams can score around that mark but I wouldn't be surprised for an ugly score total either.

11/8 - Lakers (-18.5) @ Pistons = = Lakers. Well...The Pistons could make a game of this in the first quarter. I mean, ever game starts off 0-0. KG's growth is only just beginning and the defending champs took out Shaq. Jason Kidd is still one of the best PG's in the game.

11/11 - Bulls @ Spurs: Total 12 3 Pointers made combined Over/Under/Push = Over. Going off of Preseason stats is always a risky business. Spurs make around 7 3's per game while the Bulls make just a little over 6. It's a close line but I'll say Kobe and Ray Allan light it up and shoot above the line for 3 pointers.

11/12 - Wizards @ Hornets: Pick Em! = Hornets. Not going against my squad but wouldn't be shocked of a let down either against the Wizards at home. Gotta hope The Admiral and and Allan Houston can teach the young bullets a thing or two on how to score around the basket.

11/2 - TWolves (+10.5) @ Warriors ... Warriors too strong for the TWolves.
11/4 - Hawks @ Jazz: Pick Em! ... With Penny, the Hawks will prevail.
11/6 - Clippers @ Wizards: Total 183 Over/Under/Push ... Two offensively-challenged ball clubs. Under.
11/8 - Lakers (-18.5) @ Pistons ... Pistons will not let themselves be embarrassed at home. They'll still lose, though.
11/11 - Bulls @ Spurs: Total 12 3 Pointers made combined Over/Under/Push ... These teams shoot too well from 3. Over
