Detroit Pistons New GM Press Conference

Post by Wombataholic »

Good morning and thank you for joining us.

As fans of the Detroit Pistons already know, the team is the 2nd worst thing to happen to the great state of Michigan in the last 5 years - behind the Flint Water Crisis, but ahead of the collapse of the American auto industry. In those 5 years, the team has finished no better than the middle of the pack, just like the American auto industry. Unlike the Flint Water Crisis, which hurt children, the Detroit Pistons have only hurt children's feelings with their poor play. That is all going to change with the change in regime.

We are going to work hard, play as a team, and win championships during the offseason. We've got a great group of guys that have really come together as a team, and they'll need to, because there are no off nights in this league. We'll take it one game at a time and play all 48 minutes of each game. We will have to play how we're capable of playing. We're not where we need to be yet, but we're getting closer.

Our goals going forward include signing Anthony Davis to a long-term contract, and surround him with talented teammates. Anthony Davis is a real competitor who hates to lose, unlike Terrence Ross - who will not be offered a long-term contract and loves losing. To help Anthony Davis, or "A-Dizzle" as he likes to be called, feel more loved by the people and city of Detroit, we would like to nickname our team "The Fighting A-Dizzles."

I'll open the floor up for questions.

Do you see any of your current young talent besides AD being part of your long-term plans moving forward?

You're being thrown into the fire- the draft, restricted and unrestricted free agency. Do you feel ready for this?

Does AD like to practice with anyone on this team or has he mentally checked out since the previous administration decided to deal his friend and fellow teammate, Bradley Beal to Dallas?

Calling A-Dizzle "AD" just hurts his feelings and makes him cry. Congratulations. You made a grown man cry. I hope you're proud of yourself.

We feel that Odis Jackson and Rodney Hood can be valuable contributors to the team. They like to work hard during the offseason and enjoy playing as a team. Also, no one believes in them, but they believe in themselves. Unlike Terrence Ross, who does not work hard during the offseason and sits on his couch eating Cheetos and watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for 16 hours a day.

I was born ready.

Great. You made A-Dizzle cry again. The reason that previous administration dealt his "friend" and "teammate", Bradley Beal, to Dallas is that Beal called A-Dizzle "AD" and made him cry. Does that sound like a friend or a teammate, someone who makes other people cry? I think not.

A-Dizzle does enjoy practicing with his very good friends Rodney Hood and Odis Jackson.

He will never need to pay for a drink in Lawrence, Kansas again. Ever.

What can the fans of Detroit expect from the Pistons moving forward with you now running day to day operations? And how do you feel about joining SLOE? Are you excited?

Under my watch the fans of Detroit can expect the Pistons to work hard, play as a team and win championships during the summer. If we do not win championships, it will because the other teams will have worked harder, played more as a team and won more championships during the summer.

I'm so excited about joining SLOE that I'm practically pitching a tent at the thought of having A-Dizzle on my team.
